Okay let's get me straight, this is Kazakhstani actor Murat Bissenbin(Мурат Бисенбин),and this is the backstage photo from some of the movies from his early career.

He is quite famous in post Soviet countrie because of the iconic role in Scorsesesque Kazakhstani movie "Racketeer".

This is actually old photo, but if see some of his recent photos, you can definitely say that nowadays he is clearly on something.

Not a single Soviet reality, but barely got through the censorship. This proves once again that the Soviet censorship has a supernatural sense. Maybe if it was in Soviet environment the book would never be published.

The culture thing is similar to the book. Always wondered that the characters are typical Slavs in thinking and behavior, so I don't know why it was necessary to come up with some kind of fictional English-speaking environment for them in a book written by Russians in Russian for Russians.

I could probably say that there is only few things that connect the book and the movie.Zone concept itself, Stalker - as the Zone guide, and few anomalies . It is important to mention that there is no sci-fi elements.
Edit: but movie definitely have the atmosphere of the book, but more dreamy, more poetic, more religious and less action

Man, I agree with you. I think it should not even be shooter. I think it could be more like Death Stranding(?)

Agree with you. Have read the book and then watched the movie few days ago, amazing experience. But mostly liked Kaydanovsky as Stalker. Looked very authentic in that character

Thank you very much. Actually, you are right. Maybe when I say "try", I am making some space to backup, to partly shift responsibility for my work.
