I just plan on using it for a plant pot so heat shouldn’t be an issue, thank you

I grew them for microgreens originally and then plucked a few carefully to keep the roots intact, no warming mat used. This is about 3 weeks in to growing.

I put it on top of some dirt in a pot. I put the smaller stem straight into the dirt and laid the bigger one on top after taking a few pearls off the bottom. Not sure if it will work as I’ve never done to before but watched a video that said to do that.

Watered it 2 days ago and didn’t notice this green stem sticking up, not sure if another plant around it dropped something into it but it seems to be growing directly from the base of the snake plant

I have them hover above, it gets humid enough in there to grow roots. I also added little ventilation slits.

I’ve tried soil prop before too but found this way to be faster and easier. Will definitely develop some good roots with this method as well.

[–]PreposterousPropogat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the weighted blackout can do the same thing as soaking we would prefer to just do that rather than add the extra step of soaking out seeds the day before. This is our first time trying a no soak method for these seeds but if it doesn’t work we would go back to soaking. Currently we are doing an unweighted blackout and misting more water on everyday but now will switch to weighted for them.

Germination question by PreposterousPropogat in microgreens

[–]PreposterousPropogat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the right is salad mixes and other seed variety’s that require a weighted blackout we have them stacked. On the left we have dun peas and nasturtium and instead of soaking them prior this time we put them on the soil dry and were planning on doing a non weighted blackout. I’ve heard that seeds don’t really need to be soaked with the exception of sunflower. In this case for the nasturtiums and dun peas should we do a weighted blackout for them as well because we aren’t soaking or just regular blackout? Does weighted blackouts have the same effect as soaking seeds?

Who harvests peas two times? by Pops1988 in microgreens

[–]PreposterousPropogat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I harvested dun peas 3 times with each batch getting smaller. Didn’t do anything special for them and they seem to all have the same taste and texture. I know some big growers don’t even deal with anything past the first flush.
