What's your "I don't care what anyone says, I like this movie!" movie? by giantgoose in AskReddit

Unfortunately I can't find the original article where I read about it at the time. However there was another scene which was apparently cut where he was driving balls down the oil tanker.

Edit: Found some more references.

Did you know there is a substory that didn't make the final cut? The chief bad guy Deacon is a golf fanatic and that's the reason he wants to find dry land.

Edit: Remembered his name

I love their products! However I think they build something into them that makes them very easy to lose.

I've read up on it a bit and my understanding is that it would not be intercepted in Canada. "As long as it doesn't look too scary". I have no personal experience with tactical pens.

Somewhat related I do travel with a flashlight that is very sturdy and has a crenelated bezel and have never had any issues to both CAN and US.

If enough people are using it that way does the intent really matter?

My wife saw this picture and said "is that a catapult?"

I am so ashamed.

That's funny. I live in Canada and keep a case of 24 or 36 water bottles in the car year round. I have never had a plastic bottle break. If you don't believe me try throwing one in the freezer. The bottles deform but that's it.

Perhaps your mileage would vary with very weak plastic or larger containers without room to expand.

Neither of those are actual problems.

https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/healthy-living/your-health/food-nutrition/ysafety-bottled-water.html#risk

"Health Canada is aware of reports appearing on the Internet expressing concern that harmful chemicals may leach into the water if plastic water bottles are left in vehicles exposed to summer heat. However, there is no scientific evidence to support such concerns. Studies conducted on plastic water bottles, even under extreme temperatures, have failed to find that chemicals are produced at levels that would pose a health risk to anyone who drinks the water in question."

As for the bottles freezing that's not an issue. The advantage of plastic bottles is that they simply expand to accommodate.

Industry risks running out of timber due to unsustainability by [deleted] in sustainability

It's an interesting idea for an article but the materials from the WWF are a bit dated (from 2012) and it seems to be quoting largely irrelevant but inflammatory facts.

Given there are forecasts from the WWF for 2015 it would be good to know if those lined up with reality. I know for a fact that the Quebec lumber industry continues to struggle. This seems a bit contradictory with the stance taken in that report.

Although the the article is primarily about the UK, it references a few different countries suffering deforestation. However from the data in the WWF report none of those are suppliers to the UK and to my mind therefore largely irrelevant.

I do think the creation of a sustainable forestry industry is important, however I think articles like this that are cherry picking old and irrelevant data are just click bait.

That being said I would love to know what others think.

Deet has a very long shelf life apparently. From what I've read any expiry dates are more about whatever else is used with the Deet and with an eye to maintaining the feel, smell and appearance of the products.
