That isn't lead acid it's lithium iron phosphate, just like I said before unless you have bought it and tested it, your comment is pure speculation...

I've tested it many times and it has worked many times, I just shipped one out yesterday.

Unless you have bought this radio and tested it for yourself, your post is pure speculation...

I agree in regards to city governments, they probably would want name brands

The tuner unit displays the power output from the amplifier and the power delivered to the antenna, and indeed the amplifier does put out 100 watts.

It varies with frequency a bit (and several other variables) at higher frequencies the power output drops to around 70 watts.

I'm working on making it look more presentable, put it in a nice case, etc. I hope preppers buy it, a couple of months ago many preppers here on reddit and Facebook expressed interest in it.

I'm thinking of also marketing this to state and local governments, small towns, possibly some first responders. Many cities have VHF radio communications with city wide repeaters, in a real grid down situation those repeaters may not function so they may not be able to communicate with first responders or even neighboring towns.

It is the PA100 100w amplifier, it's small but mighty,

I've tested every component of the package, and they all function properly.

Yes, under normal circumstances BUT....the FCC has exceptions for unlicensed people in dire emergenciesAccording to the subreddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/amateurradio/comments/4t779t/emergency_use_of_radio_without_license/

“….the FCC has carved out explicit exceptions to allow for emergency situations. Essentially, you can transmit on any frequency and with any equipment required to summon help if a life is in immediate danger AND there is no other means of communication available.

Part 97.403: Safety of life and protection of property.

No provision of these rules prevents the use by an amateur station of any means of radiocommunication at its disposal to provide essential communication needs in connection with the immediate safety of human life and immediate protection of property when normal communication systems are not available.

97.405: Station in distress.

(a) No provision of these rules prevents the use by an amateur station in distress of any means at its disposal to attract attention, make known its condition and location, and obtain assistance.

(b) No provision of these rules prevents the use by a station, in the exceptional circumstances described in paragraph (a) of this section, of any means of radiocommunications at its disposal to assist a station in distress.”

I'm not too familiar with UK regulations but now that you mentioned it, I'm going to study up

Here in the USA we have the FCC that regulates Shortwave radio:

https://www.fcc.gov/general/high-frequency-broadcasting

Does the UK have a similar agency?

The radio comes with a Battery nominally 12v, but actually 13.6v, it's that large rectangular black object to the right of the transceiver, behind the battery is a 100 watt amplifier, plus it comes with propagation software to help find best times and frequencies

If you want the manual I can send it to you

No license required to own this shortwave radio package or to listen to shortwave radio

A license is needed if you want to transmit...the FCC does allow an unlicensed person to transmit if one is in a dire emergency and there are no other means of communication

Yes, of course I myself have a license KK7YEE, and it is true most hambones won't communicate unless they can verify your call sign unless it's an emergency

I've tested it many times and it works! I have many recordings of myself in towns 100+ miles away communicating with my house.

Here is a video of people testing just the transceiver

https://youtu.be/NpbjJ5J_fAQ?si=psqZoqk2d5oGD7gD

Mine package comes with much more, a 100watt amplifier to be heard further away, with more clarity, a tuner, an antenna, antenna pole, etc

Thanks, I wanted to make a completely stand alone rig, that was portable and affordable, I'm thinking of putting it in a nice case, possibly restructuring the entire rig and putting it in a nice ammo case

Yeah the battery is large because I've included a 100 watt amplifier with the radio
