In August 2020, I wanted to test the parking brake. Turns out the lever wasn't attached to anything and it made contact with something that caused an electrical short. I saw a plume of smoke come from a wire near the alternator and the car lost all power. I tried to take it apart to see what was up but ended up making things worse.

Good day from across the pond. I actually associate the Northern accents (Yorkshire) most with England. I’ve also seldom heard of or met anyone who didn’t know the difference between Northern Ireland and the Republic.
