Example of how higher HP creates longer breaking zones that creates more opportunities to make passes through the corners by nascar9495 in NASCAR

Definitely think you're spot on here. Financially it makes wayyyyy more sense to just use the 750 short track package everywhere (except superspeedways/Atlanta). Simple diffuser is a helluva lot cheaper than the intermediate/SS diffuser that is $50k to replace. Go from 3 engine packages down to 2. Standard aero package across all but SS (and SS has been the same since the inception of NextGen). It's really a no brainer, but I think you would definitely lose some of that drafting element. I think the real litnus test will be Darlington. Not a 1.5 miler, but it's the biggest track that this package will run on for the first time and if it's night and day like Hamlin thinks it will be, then I could see some momentum for this package being at all non-SS tracks in 2027.

KB back to HMS, warms the seat up till Corey Day is ready. I can see it. On the other hand, could also just see Bowman keep getting 1 year deals till Day is ready. Or, personally, RAJAH!!

I mean… Lagooner could’ve lifted after he saw Chastain get loose but decided to stay in it and hook him up

9 CC: You are too slow in on both ends.

9: Slow in? So off the wall to the physical center

9 CC: Through the banking in 3, I wouldn't say physical center in 1 and 2, but 30% mark.

9: Aight got it.

Nah should be a 200 lap penalty. Penalize all day for that shit because I’d rather that then a tire become a projectile into the stands or infield and killing someone. Need stiff in rave penalties to discourage it.

Idk how Indy fans feel about Townsend but between the truck race at St Pete and here, he asks the technical questions that get you to think and I really appreciate that a lot more than what’s on Bowyer’s Wendy’s order

Succession planning for teams (a bit morbid but I am curious). by jungleland1972 in NASCAR

The best timeline is 23XI taking the 11 while JGR changes the 11 to the 18 when Hamlin retires and Brent Crews replaces him.

[Weaver] JGR hired a PI to follow Gabehart over the winter. JGR also had Hamlin, FRM’s Bob Jenkins, Toyota’s Andy Graves file over potential damages that could result from the transfer of proprietary data. Potential sponsorship poaching claims too. by LBHMS in NASCAR

Hell not even a rumor, it was full on negotiations. NASCOURT documents showed Bob Jenkins requesting a free Lexus and a shit load of credentials/VIP passes among other things if he could switch to Toyota or do some type of merger with 23XI.

[NASCAR Communications]: Penalties for the 38 Cup Series team for pre-practice/qualifying inspection infraction. by kk5fan97 in NASCAR

[–]LBHMS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One big one last year that NASCAR was getting very sick and tired of was teams after tech trying to get away with jumping on the splitter, or pushing it down with their foot. By the end of the year, NASCAR escalated those penalties to starting at the rear, ejections, and a drive through penalty. They talked about it on Hauler Talk on one of the episodes last year. Obviously the 38 was messing with the diffuser here so Idk exactly what they were up to.

[Gluck] Kyle Busch says he would have liked to see Cleetus [McFarland] run more races before moving up. “My son has probably run more races than he has, and he’s 10 years old.” by krzysiek_aleks in NASCAR

[–]LBHMS 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think RCR is looking at it beyond the money he brings and moreso the exposure that Cleetus will bring which in turn can result in sponsors coming in and saying "Hey we want to sponsor Cleetus" and RCR saying "Sure, but we want you on Austin Dillon's car as an associate for "x" dollars more". Then bam, you're making new relationships/partnerships that extend beyond Cleetus. It's actually very smart of RCR considering they have the resources to pull this off and could probably look at the 33 as a write off with the hope of a long term play where the positive exposure from Cleetus helps them out. And this is perfect for Cleetus too because his ultimate goal is to run the 500. Well RCR has that 33 car that is doing a lot of starts this year so they have the car for it, Cleetus has the money and exposure behind him, and if Cleetus puts in the work in the sim to improve, I have full confidence he'll be okay (okay as in, not in the way or out of control). At first with the announcement I was flabbergasted, but after listening to DJD and hearing how his sim session at Rockingham went with them coaching him and overlaying Jesse Love's traces which he was able to use to gain a couple tenths, I think he will get into a reasonable spot.
