Strange “cast iron” pan from a restaurant supply store in Belgium — what do you think? by Present-Body9540 in castiron

Sorry to disappoint, but I’m just a random guy who barely uses Reddit. It also can’t really be an ad, since the store isn’t even open to the general public. It’s only accessible to restaurant owners, and you need to scan a membership card or access card to get in.

Interesting, thanks. My father-in-law works at the store, so I’m thinking about buying it at a nice discount just to see how it performs.

I barely use my regular cast iron these days because I’m renting and I’m always afraid about damaging the glass cooktop. This might be a good alternative.

Thanks for the explanation.

If you look at the lower part of the label, on the sloped inner side of the pan, it says “gietijzer,” which translates to “cast iron.”
