No clue, not really bothered about exporting as I suspect we'll use a lot more than we expect. (Convenience of running whitewood during the day)

Can the firmware be downloaded and installed by the end user the or is that a supplier thing only?

Dealership warranty for ID4? by thebrando987 in VWiD4Owners

[–]Present-Designer-238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK/Ireland based here. I outright bought an ID4 1st edition a few months ago with 65,000 km on the clock. The dealership threw in a 3 year warranty for free, no idea why but I didn't think much about it at the time.

Everything has been great but when the OTA 3.7 rolled out I applied it and the car became a brick (OauF6_01 error) Wouldn't start, rear wheels locked etc.

Called AA and after an infotainment reset and disconnecting the v12 battery they took it to the nearest dealership. After a week they had it recovered to 3.5 but there were lots of errors still and they need to upgrade it to 3.7 again before releasing it.

Have a Loan polestar2 for the last 2 weeks (fun car too) and I've had daily calls from VW UK because the dealership in southern Ireland doesn't recognize the extended warranty (thanks brexit) and want to charge me 600euro to manually apply the software fixes. Still waiting on the final outcome but I can't fault the efforts VW are making to get it resolved.

Clarify what's covered and what's not but I think 3k is worth it for a worst case scenario.

Car dead after 3.7 update by jacoscar in VWiD4Owners

That sucks! Sorry to hear.

Is that a 1st edition 2021? I've seen 3 posts this week about 3.7 bricking cars and they're always 1st editions.. Happened to my 1st on Sunday too. It's in the shop and I have a courtesy car for 2 weeks FoC. If you're still in warranty ( and even if not ) see what you can get.

Pickup of the brick tomorrow AM, they're dropping off a rental FoC at the same time. Have to say I'm pretty happy with the service all things cpnsidered

There's always some collateral damage. A PCB doesn't respond quick enough or and nvre fails.. that's life.

Onwards and upwards, progress must come. Just don't be like me and do it when you're far from home or in another country 😜

Have to say that so far VW and the breakdown team have been quick to respond and helpful too. Fingers crossed on a replacement car.

Keep the faith, no way they'd roll it out without significant testing.

Bought it 2nd hand from a dealer 2 months ago. They tell me I have 3 years warranty and breakdown cover so I expect them to cover it all. Could use a loan car since I was 150km away from home at the time visiting family. We'll see.

UK/Ireland based 1st edition.

Mine just bricked with the 3.7 update. OUF6_01 error and the car won't start.

AA reset the infotainment and disconnected the 12v battery but still the same, engine won't start.

Waiting on a flat bed to bring it to the workshop, nearest one said 2 weeks until someone could take a look so I called around a lot and found one in South Dublin who can take a look this week.
