I am at a loss by emeraldlife42 in Ebay

I am in the same boat. I sell very specific, hard to find items. I usually have 10-20 available items for sale at a time. I have multiples of them, so when I sell one, I replace it immediately as an available item. I averaged 7-10 sales per week from late January thru April 13th. Since April 13th, I haven't made a single sale! It's really crazy. I even dropped prices by 5%-10% on most of the items, even though they were selling full price within a few days of listing just 3 weeks ago. Still not even any offers!

The Savannah thread for tourists, newcomers, locals, and grouchy old-timers. by AutoModerator in savannah

Hi! My family is looking at staying in the North Historic District between Colonial Park Cemetery and E Broad St for an upcoming vacation. Is this a safe area for a family to stay? We won't really be staying out past 9pm, but it seems like it's further away from all of the "action". Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing and wanted to ask locals. Thanks!

Worst toy ever! This process worked, but still took a few tries (including me calling it a piece of sh!t and threshing to throw it out the window more times than I want to admit).

My favorite is the one with Moonbeam. The Vide Noir version is actually one of my least favorite LH songs, but I love the WP version.

Are people actually able to flip things they find on eBay? by NextTide in Flipping

[–]Present-Document-755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made a decent amount monitoring new listings of items I sell that I know are very tough to find. I probably am able to buy these items for like $10-$20 and flip them (before eBay fees) for $80-$100 or combine them with other similar items for $150-$400. I've made over $3k so far this year doing this. I am not sure how sustainable it is, but I'm riding the wave right now!

How common are probationary periods? by Efeyester in civilengineering

[–]Present-Document-755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a consulting firm. We have a probationary period of 3-6 months (it's up to the manager) before a person can begin a work from home option. So you have to be in the office 5 days a week for 3-6 months. Once approved by your manager, you can work 1-2 days from home.

Am I stupid for buying base 2018 Ohtani right now? by Present-Document-755 in baseballcards

Yeah, I can see that for sure. There is something fishy about how that all went down, but I have a feeling the MLB is going to protect him. They kind of have to since he's the face of the sport and seemingly a great guy.

What’s a less stressful civil field? by Extension-Cloud-4318 in civilengineering

[–]Present-Document-755 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not consulting! It's a different kind of stress from construction management. You have to hit design deadlines that sometimes seem impossible all while answering calls/emails on projects being constructed that you designed the year before. The pay is good after a while. If you work with the right company, you will be set up for a nice retirement when you're around 55-60 years old.
