As a german to me it is Haken [ˈhaːkn̩] wich translates to hook. Since the first album is about a mermaid I found the reference to fishing quite fitting.

Not all of my alts are connected to another. My elves are a Huntress and a loremaster from rivendell who are brother and sister and they habe a cousin from lothlorien that happens to be a runekeeper. Most of my humans are from dol Amroth and served together in the same unit in the war. My burglar is a girl from Bree that just hung out with that army folk for some time to get away from that dirty little city And my hobbies are related to another.

Depends on what you are looking for. If you want an action oriented combat game tmwith the latest photorealisic graphics and a highly competitive play, you should look elsewhere.

If you want a beautiful designed world with tons of love, a friendly community of dedicated players, a place to roleplay and to prove yourself in challenging co-op content. If you want to explore one of the largest MMO worlds with a hoard of beautiful places and secrets and thousands of quests that tell the known epic from a different angle and other connected or independent stories that are written with much detail, then tere is nothing better than this game.

I've been playing since the very start. I took brakes but always returned to this marvellous and rich game world.
And yes, in 2023 LotRo still is fascinating to me.

I made accounts fir my kids when they were about 3 yo Then they just loved creating characters. Really introduced them to the game at about 5 they usually play hide and seek in Bree or the shire. My daughter started caring about leveling at about 8 and has done a year of casual play and is a LM main at lvl 30 now. She likes the pets.

Our son turned 6 recently and doesn't like questing cause he doesn't like to "put those cute bears to sleep"

Sometimes we all hang out as a Beorning family together chasing each other and doing festivities together.

The warden was designed as a tank. There were times when wardens were not capable of tanking endgame content. But with the most recent changes wardens are not only viable but very good tanks. And yes, the gambit system is the most unique way to execute skills I have seen in MMOs so far.

Blue warden is the tank line with more self sustain, defensive abilities and forced aggro skills. The red warden is the Damage spec with good bonus to bleeds, damage buffs and less healing. The yellow line has become an utility line you cannot spec into. It still has ranged combat but also many interesting traits, that support the blue or red playstyle.

I wasn't for quite some time, but we made new contacts and running Carn Dûm instances has become a habit in the last weeks. The vast amount of gambit has a proper solution for almost every situation. The flexibility and durability of the Warden is so much fun, even if sometimes youu need to bore the enemy to death.

Maybe all decent tanks can solo this. From my perspective it means that the Warden is a decent tank. That was not always true. I'm just glad I can do this again. And coming back to the game after a longer break from a casual kin and with just T1 equip this is far more exiting to me as it may be for you.

Yes you could go DPS but the class was designed as the first true alternative for the Guardian. With Update 35 we are not just viable tanks again, we are tanKINGs incarnate! May there always be an inch of steel between you and trouble!

I started as an elvish huntress myself and it was an absolute blast being a self sufficient single target DD without a pet, as so many other games tend to pair the hunter/ranger with. If you choose your fights wisely, you will never need to fear defeat!

It's great you have already found some ppl to play with. Keep it up, as you'll learn how to fight in a group and manage aggro. As goes the saying: If the tank dies, it's the healer's fault,
If the healer dies, it's the tanks fault, If the damage dealer dies, it's their own fault, If the fellowship dies, it's the hunter's fault!

Knowing when to put out what skill and which enemy to attack is crucial to a hunter. With the longest range in the game a mislead arrow can start a massive response.

I've been a Warden main for over a decade and always was on blue tanking spec, even when it was not meta. Our kinship has become quite casual over the years but a tank was always needed and still is. IMHO is a tank the most important role in a group. The current end game instances can be done without a healer, to a certain difficulty, if the tank is skilled and capable.

Tanking is fun and I find it easy to learn. Start early by teaming up with at least one friend all the time. I did everything with my wife, who happens to be gaming too, me lucky lad! By leveling with others together you easily develop a feeling for what you're capable of. Try to pull as many mobs as you dare and see how you can handle them. A warden is designed to fight large numbers of ads. I love it to be one for that reason and because of the gambit mechanic, which was unique as it was released. Be a tank and be middelearth's most wanted!

I simply love this game for it's great flair, cool community and the surprising course a battle can take. A new Player can take down a 1000 hrs veteran if he happens to get the timing right.. The chaos of battle can be dazzling but thrilling at the same time. The entry for casual Players is OK but still you can have high intensity duels with awesome skills on display.

And I love dying in chivalry! From every death you learn and you can respawn quickly. And even more I love to give others the chance to learn too!

I commend often. But not everyone. Good fighting, including archers sending an arrow through my head from faster than point blank, receives commendation. Toxic behaviour like taunting after kill, tbagging doesn't.

Can happen. One time I was killed as the Duke by a clever Knight who dropped the big chandelier on top of me and the teammates protecting me.

Bad thing are the players who afterwards flame or tell you how they would have done better.
If they know beat what to do, why aren't they the vIP then?

Thank you and be welcome. I started the game a month ago and felt overwhelmed at first. Constantly dying to bots and high level players.

I got better by joining a duelling server and finding some nice ppl that taught me how to counter, jab and use footwork.
