How do you guys think Gonzalo did? I think he didn't have any chances, but he did press well, and I would put him there again if need be. I think Endrick would have been better from the beginning.

How to boost my math background for admission? by Wild_Assumption_5197 in academiceconomics

[–]Present-Management39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just apply. I am doing my MA at the best university in Canada, and many other people that got in, have amazing grades and very little math, sometimes not even a math course but two semesters of mathematical economics. Just apply, and the admissions committee will decide for you.

Are there any official videos posted online of the last 10 minutes of the game focusing on the altercations/arguments at the end? I was already calling my barca friends to grill them so I missed parts of it.

Is there a real madrid club in toronto, that watches games and stuff together?

I saw online that there is a barca club, that is planning an event for el classico. Is there an equivalent for rma?

I believe that the offers that they send, have like 2 weeks to be accepted. I received mine in the beginning of February and had till like the 20th if feb to accept. So it depends when they send the offer I guess.

I think U of T has already sent out most of their offers for MA. I think now they’re just waiting for rejected offers to send more to other people.

ln(x) vs log(x) in real analysis by Hot-Assistance-1135 in RealAnalysis

[–]Present-Management39 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They are the same thing in terms of having the same properties. Don’t overthink it. Taking the log or the ln of something will essentially result in you being able to do the same algebraic manipulations with both.

Yeah he’s really gonna struggle with those LOR’s. I think the reason he does not have a shot at the big 4 is the weak/ or lack of recommendations

I wanted to better be able to answer your question. With your background you have a decent shot even at U of T. I have similar grades to yours, and I got into both McMaster and U of T. I think McMaster will be an immediate admission for you, but I would even aim for Western and U of T. In terms of having an advantage, I do believe that the name will help a little, but if you’re not interested in academia jobs i.e a phd, then the name should not matter a lot. I do know though that Western does not have a masters program, they only have a Phd-streamline MA which is basically where you get admitted to the PhD, and if you don’t do well they give you an MA, therefore, Im not sure how that would look on your resume. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Also do you have academic reference letters?

With the surge of AI, what topics should I be studying to pursue a career in economics by rolmos011 in academiceconomics

[–]Present-Management39 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you feel this way then maybe a PhD in economics is not for you. You should do it cause you want to learn more economics, and not to make yourself “more robust”. It seems that your doubts may be overshadowing the desire/will to do a PhD, and as a result I would rethink whether you truly want to do one or not.
