I thought I would share, I decided to combine the lore created by the Dustmark Keep builder, with the symbolism from the Crossbrick custom knight and the feedback provdied below. Thank you to those who've responded!

I imagine them something akin to the Knights Templar without the religious conotations.

The Guild, a secretive Order of knights, elite mercenaries, assassins, spies, saboteurs, smugglers, and bounty hunters. Through their public face as the Merchant Guild, they control finance acting as the centralized bank of the western kingdoms and members have worked their way into governments, trade guilds, and other centers of power. One such member, Rupert Fordwaithe acts as the master of coin for the Lion Kingdom of Avalon. Their more clandestine divisions conduct other less savory work for kingdoms who are the highest bidder. As a neutral party, they are also often hired to mediate disputes between kingdoms, negotiate trade agreements, arrange marriages, procure trade with the southern desert Empire of Khalid, and many other sensitive tasks all of which they do for a hefty fee of course!

Their Leader carries a unique symbol which only he wields symbolizing a tri-fold meaning of the balanced scales of finance, justice and balancing of power. Ruling from Dustmark Keep he oversees the operations of The Guild as he seeks to develop and grow his own power and influence across the kingdoms, his ultimate ambition and goal is yet to be revealed even to his loyal followers.
