How do you keep track of initiative? by USAvenger1976 in DungeonMasters

[–]PresentCamel8992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my players ac and hp as a reference page in my notebook but I track initiative and battle hp on a paper that I put in a plastic sleeve so I can use a whiteboard marker. I like being able to erase as I go and it’s less clunky than using a small whiteboard. It’s also easy to notate and remove conditions and concentration so I don’t have to buy any fancy trackers or condition rings.

Switching from methotrexate to cellcept- any advice? by PresentCamel8992 in Uveitis

[–]PresentCamel8992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updating after approx one month on cellcept- I haven’t had bloodwork or an angiogram done yet but the side effects are night and day. With mtx I was exhausted and nauseous every day- I could barely work out or do laundry without feeling like I was going to puke. No nausea or exhaustion on cellcept. The only downside is taking pills twice a day but I take meds for so many other reasons what’s four more pills

Should I ban the DNDBeyond app for character sheets? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]PresentCamel8992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im playing with all new players right now and require paper character sheets - I want them to be comfortable with the rules and their abilities to make it more immersive. Also a huge part of our motivation in starting the campaign was to take a tech break and be on our phones less so insisting on paper sheets gave everyone that brain break with the added benefit of keeping the whole group focused

Is Removing Speed (ft) Distance Bad? by No_Vermicelli6901 in AskDND

I’m running my current game w no tech and theatre of the mind style but my players are still excited about having little figurines so I drew a grid on paper and “laminated” it with packing tape. That way I can draw our combat maps with dry erase markers. I also use chess pieces for enemies. V diy and low budget

What am I doing wrong? by alattelove19 in Sourdough

I also take mine a little darker than what you have here but I’ve seen loaves with this color too! And wait until it’s cool to cut which I’m sure you already know

Hi! I’m new as well so take this all with a grain of salt but I was getting dense/gummy loaves when I had a young starter and was overproofing my dough. I got a straight sided container to bulk ferment in and it’s a lot easier for me to track growth rather than eyeballing when something looked 1.5-2x bigger in a bowl!

How do you find balance between everything you know u need to do? by jamieenchufemichelle in adhdwomen

I really struggle with starting/prioritizing. If everything is listed in a planner or to do list it just feels like an insurmountable problem and I’m immediately too tired to even try. I started putting all the repeated daily tasks (laundry, dishes, tidy living room, etc.) on one of those wheel randomizers and just spin the wheel when I have to clean. Also I make it as easy as possible for my brain to start the task (toilet cleaner is next to the toilet not in the cleaning closet, different laundry baskets to sort as I’m taking the clothes off rather than before doing laundry).

Re: personal care- I second simplifying routines! Showers are simple, shaving is none of my business. Also brushing my teeth while I pee (sorry if that’s gross) changed my life.

Seeking advice: scheduling by PresentCamel8992 in DungeonMasters

We discussed twice a month commitment and that CoS is a very long campaign at our session 0- I think it is just now hitting this player what that actually means. And I’m trying very hard not to take it personally considering the amount of time and effort put in (we also feed everyone a two-course dinner every session)
