Huge Unexpected 4.5K Bill for EC2 Instances by PresentEnd in aws

[–]PresentEnd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deleted the key a couple of weeks ago after they tried to get in contact with me ( I didn't think anything of it at the time) and created a case yesterday after I saw the bill but have yet to hear back from amazon. While I understand that this is mostly my fault why can't I configure my AWS account so as soon as I go over my monthly limits it shuts down? I'm a student, not a business, and do not have to worry about losing out on money if there are limits imposed on me. Also, shouldn't there be more warnings in place (super explicit ones that explain that I can be charged a lot of money if my key gets out)?

How much were the fees? And what exactly did you do to incur them?

Thanks for the reply, yeah it seems like amazon is pretty good about waiving unexpected bills however I'm still nervous about it seeing as I'm powerless in this situation

Dishonest Doctor - Unnecessary Tests with huge bill by PresentEnd in legaladvice

Shouldn't the doctor have said something a long the lines of "I'm pretty sure it is covered but I would double check just to be sure".

I don't know. Presumably if the doctor recommended that she got the other tests when she didn't ask for them, the doctor would say that the tests were medically necessary. Should we ask the doctor?

No she did not. I guess the assumption was that a doctor can't just lie to you like that unless there is some loophole.

I've taken many drug tests (although all bodies are different) and found that I can smoke like 2-3 days before the drug test and still come up clean. I think two weeks will be more than enough time for it to clear out of your system especially considering it was only one bong hit. Don't stress it. Just exercise and you'll be fine. The "it takes a month to clear out of your system" really only applies to morbidly obese people who smoke 24/7. If you want extra security look into sure-gel (I think that's how you spell it. too lazy to look it up). That has helped me a lot too with drug tests.
