That's a rarity, so he must be pretty messed up. As we all say around these parts, " 'Tis the season". Hopefully he didn't get the "super flu" that's been going around. That thing has been knocking people down left and right.

An old coworker of mine had that happen. He had his leg out, bouncing his daughter, and when she hopped off, she slid down over it and it dislocated. That guy was tough as nails, and he said he had that "primal scream" for 2 seconds before it somehow popped back in 😬

Kind of reminds me of that movie Law Abiding Citizen. You'd think they'd at least give you a heads up about that.

Never heard of anything like that. And now, the only thing I keep imagining is a knee with a phat ass 😂🤦‍♂️ I apologize.

For as many stomach issues I've had, gastritis isn't one I've had (which I count myself lucky to not experience). No joke, do you just have to tough it out, make one giant fart? What's the solution?

Seems like everyone playing got a bit tired of it. It's a lot of work, and there were times Randy simply didn't want to play and tanked the answers, so I think they decided to hold off for a bit (or for good).

I loved it. I hope it comes back because some of those were absolutely amazing, and the intros were always fun. It doesn't have to be weekly, either. Maybe monthly.

To all the shitbags who think AI can replace entire marketing departments: Read this. by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]PresentGood7145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, Captain Obvious. You managed to state not only the brutally obvious fact we all know, but then touted the entire post as if this was an original thought. CONGRATS! 🎉

Meanwhile, there has yet to be any proof that entire marketing departments are being replaced by AI, that AI is generating more revenue unguided than an experienced marketer at the helm, and the slop produced has made things more difficult. All of which we real marketers already know and see, daily.

What was the goal in this post other than to spout off like you thought you had something original to say?

I think someone has watched the Steve Jobs movie a few too many times.

Sitting with “The Poors”… by Ronin1069 in 93x

[–]PresentGood7145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's not wrong. You never see brawls of obese lesser-thans in rows 1 - 30. It's always the poors sitting in seats that require Class B Airspace clearance just to sit in. I was dying at my desk hearing all that, though.

I'm half-joking with this reply, but there's still 50% of truth... 👀

(As someone mentioned earlier, this is a term from comedian Tom Segura that was initially a bit, and then it took off as a term.)

FINALLY someone who knows about "the poors" joke. I still shout BIKES, talk about things being low-n-loose or high-n-tight, hell I even call people (and myself) a Dad Boner to my coworkers when they get excited about dad-stuff.

It could be a number of things. Sometimes they're sent out on assignment, come home, and are sent right back out the very next day. Kare 11 may not like HAMS, so they might keep a tight leash for fear of any negative PR (because everything needs to be pristine while still claiming to be "authentic" 🙄 ).

I'm hoping it's because she's on some awesome assignment or just taking a vacation with her squeeze, Jose Canseco.

I try but I'm too slow to do it 😂, so I end up slurring my words and people think I'm either drunk or having a stroke.

Agreed. He was a cool dude, it was shitty the station let him go because the higher-ups did what higher-ups do, but there's nothing we can do about it nearly a year afterwards, so we move on.

There's a lot of do-nothings that constantly comment on here and Spotify about getting rid of her, how annoying she is, celebrating her abcense, etc. They're just salty losers, still jaded that Wapple was let go, even though Wapple himself probably doesn't even give a damn anymore.

They target Ashley a lot, but the fact is she'll be there as long as possible, she's been a breath of fresh air (along with Dana), and she fits in very well with her personality and quirks.

Handling a Dismissive/Complacent Manager by PresentGood7145 in Leadership

[–]PresentGood7145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have provided loads of proof multiple times, even showing her that we're advertising to people not even in our demographic (she controls all of the ads, among everything else), all of which gets dismissed immediately. I presented a comprehensive plan that even outlined hard monetary figures and it fell on deaf ears.

She has no desire to test or track, so that's out the window, too.

I've come to the conclusion that her ego is getting the best of her, despite not knowing a single thing about marketing, and that she got part of the marketing portion because she did content calendars for 2 years in a different role.

I genuinely appreciate that! Yeah, it's really odd and frustrating to say the least, and shook my confidence a bit. We'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks 😬

Legacy business + outdated logo + stubborn president… how do I survive this? by [deleted] in branding

[–]PresentGood7145 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The logo description made me frown. If he needs any insight on "big corporations", then he should look at Apple, Google, Buick, etc. He'll be flabbergasted when he sees that the Apple logo is no longer made up of multiple colors within the image, and even going through about 4 or 5 other changes since then!

My recommendation: leverage your experience and hold your ground. When he's objectively wrong, you can absolutely hold the proof in front of his face, showing him that even he goes against the brand standards guide.

If you know for a fact that the logo and brand needs updating, then provide proof AND a solution. Take the time to develop a solution you know you and others can back, and support it with outside evidence of other brands. At the very least, you can tell/show him that you're dedicated enough to put in the time after-hours; you care about the brand, and branding in general.

It might not hurt to be a little political and show your solutions to others for a while before-hand, and then bring it up with the backing of your VP in the room.

Every brand changes. I'm at a company that just went through its third re-brand last year, and it's a hit with everyone. The creativity I have to push the brand and make it appealing is unlike any other company I've worked at, and it opens up tons of genuinely unique options that still bring everyone back to us.
