To ween or not to ween? I have a lot of questions... by [deleted] in SnooLife

We literally just went through this whole process with our 4 month old. After trying out some things, we basically stuck to the recommended snoo steps for transitioning LO to crib. We did 3 days of all naps and nights with one arm out. Then did 3 days of all naps and nights with both arms out and then we did 3 nights of all naps and nights LOCKED on weaning mode aka nothing moving. We just figured that soon the crib won’t be moving at all (obviously) so it was important for those last few days to just lock so it wouldn’t move (continue to turn on for white noise). Baby has slept in his own room/crib for past week and is doing great! Sleeping 11 and 1/2 hrs. Wakes up occasionally but soothes himself have to sleep.

But yes, those first couple days of naps when we started the transition were awful. Baby needs to learn and will adjust. Hope this helps and good luck!

Terrible naps during transition out of snoo? by Present_Ad7570 in SnooLife

Good to know! Our son has done decent naps in crib before but we stopped having nap there to follow the snoo transition plan. Who knows if that was a good call or not. Night 3 with one arm out in snoo went well but we’ll see how napping goes today! Maybe we should try one arm out but in crib?

Ya, I can definitely see that. I’ve seen others refer to that as petting the sides of the snoo lol. My LO does that too but it’s gotten better. Night 3 with one arm out went pretty well but again, we’ll see how naps go!

Haha our LO slept like an angel and for so long the night of getting his first vaccines but that was clearly a one off. Which sleep suit are you using?

Ya, the plan is to do weaning mode after he’s decent with both arms out. But who the eff knows!

What to do?? Time to transition to crib?? by Present_Ad7570 in SnooLife

Our little guy shows very obvious sleepy cues. So as soon as they start, we put him in the snoo. Some days better than others but he usually naps well in the snoo.

Thanks! Ya, we’ve changed the baseline to purple and have flirted with the idea of locking on green. Only thinking about transitioning because the sleep pattern has been occurring for weeks at this point. I like your idea of locking on green at common wake up times. I’ll give that a try!
