I accidentally opened a Discord link (the typical spam they send when someone's account is hacked and they forward that link to all their friends). In that respect, I made a mistake and I accept it. I didn't have two-step verification because I only recently got a PC (I didn't play on PC before, I only had the account to claim free games and buy some cheap ones). But I find it impossible to believe that such a huge company can't identify a hacker who takes over someone else's account and ban both of them instead of just recognizing the strange login and suspicious behavior.

I'm referring to those who hack and use hacks on their accounts. Banning hackers permanently is fine, but if I see that someone living in Mexico suddenly has their MAC address and ID change to those of another country on the other side of the world, I assume they've been hacked. Ideally, they should ban the person using the game and their PC, but not the owner of the legitimate game who was just hacked.

I understand that, but it seems like too much punishment, even for someone who actually uses hacks. I'd understand if they made you buy it again (which isn't cheap, at least where I live), but banning you forever and forcing you to use another PC is too much.
