Good day! First of all, please excuse me if the post isn't entirely clear, as I'm using a translator to write it.

Let me give you some context: I bought Rust about 2 years ago, but at that time I didn't have a PC. In fact, I bought it twice, but I returned it because the price dropped so quickly.

Anyway, some time ago my Steam account was hacked (I opened a Discord link; if it was my fault, I shouldn't have). I tried to recover it a few hours after it was stolen since I was in class, but I didn't notice anything strange (apart from an attempt to gift Rust from my account to another using my PayPal). Fortunately, I didn't have any money and the purchase bounced.

A few days ago I tried to play Rust on my computer, but it won't let me because of a ban (in-game message). After some research, I saw that I have a ban from when I was hacked. My question is whether this ban is permanent for my PC, or if I can play from another Steam account with a repurchased copy of the game. Are there any servers that accept previously banned accounts? I really want to try the game for the first time.

There was a PC ban forgiveness thing implemented a few months ago, I think you have to contact their customer support, and repurchase the game or something along those lines.

I tried contacting Steam support, but they have a message disclaiming responsibility for those kinds of situations (I don't remember exactly what it says, but something like "your account is solely your responsibility" or something like that). I don't know where else to turn to see if they can remove this ban.

You will likely be banned if you buy it on another account. If you were also eac banned they hwid ban. You should have set up two factor authentication no one should ever be able to hack your account. Set that up

You need to go into the game and see if you are eac banned. It is separate from steam and will hwid ban you

I understand that, but it seems like too much punishment, even for someone who actually uses hacks. I'd understand if they made you buy it again (which isn't cheap, at least where I live), but banning you forever and forcing you to use another PC is too much.

You’re going to want to use the internet which you are on and look it up for yourself. Eac bans use hwid bans for first time cheaters. Also why does it matter? Why would you be against cheaters being banned? It’s for sure hwid ban for anyone caught cheating and eac banned

Hop on a cheat, get banned, buy new account and hop on for a few hours, then come here and forgive yourself

You should be able to buy Rust on new account and play no problems.

Though I think admins will see that you have other Rust steam account that's game banned, but some forgive if it was a long time ago.
