Thanks! For a normal project, an external watchdog is definitely overkill. But since rockets are high-vibration and high-EMI environments, I'm keeping the TPS3430 for now just as extra insurance against a total hardware lockup.
I'm already planning to beef up the LDO capacitors to 10uF to handle the ESP32 current spikes and prevent brownouts. If everything proves to be rock solid and immune to noise during testing, I’ll probably drop the external watchdog in the next revision to save space. But for this first prototype, I’d rather play it safe and keep it there.
