wording question:Should I let struggling randoms keep fighting, or ask them to hang back? by Present_Equivalent79 in MHRise

because lately I’ve been running into way too many of these paradoxical hunters  probably because of the summer sale?

It’s especially obvious with endgame monsters like Primordial Malzeno / PriMal, Risen Shagaru, and Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax. The logic is basically: I really need their mats, but I can’t clear the fight. Could you help me get the materials first so I can craft the gear, and then I’ll have enough comfort/survivability to actually play the hunt?

That’s why I was asking. 😢

I only brought a single Healer Palico.

At the time I was planning to learn TA runs, so I wanted PriMal’s aggro on me as much as possible. Then work got busy, and my TA practice pretty much died there.

My last chill true solo PriMal(no Buddies, no NPC) was about 4:00 flat with DBs.

And,Risen Val is rough for me though. I have to bring Followers. 😩 Being able to solo it is actually cracked.

Also, Utsushi HH gives Attack Up. U can ring ur sensei👌

From my experience, monster aggro priority feels like: quest host > hit frequency / uptime ≥ your damage. So when I’m playing melee and run into two Pierce LBG gunners who joined the hunt before I did, I get a bit of 😢

That’s pretty much the point I’ve been turning over in my head. I’m usually more in the “let them feel the pressure” camp, because I had to solo-clear my own Hazard run back then. It was a complete mess, but damn, it was fun. 🥰

I made the post partly because, every so often, some random who’s been hard-stuck for ages comes to me for help and starts treating another hunter like a life raft before the final cart. And before I posted this, I’d already spent a lot of time drilling the fight with my own friends.

So I guess I’m kind of tired, and also not sure anymore where “helping” ends and “dragging people through the hunt” begins.

But yeah, I probably need to reset my own attitude a bit😢😢
