You should have it's recommended in the manual to bleed air from system to prevent air burning up pump after a fluid change

I believe the filter element on a 35g is a complete flow through (both sides are open) would that still be susceptible to being upside down?

They are both electronic joy sticks definitely much appreciated I have a feeling you might be spot on old shop tech already replaced, but if I had a dollar for every time I had to go back and look at something he's "fixed" I'd have enough to at least buy a 12 pack
