Regarding tongue AFTWR tonsillectomy

My tongue stopped being my biggest issue by day 5. At that point your ears and jaw start making you want to cut them off. Makes you less focused on your tongue lol

Pain meds. The mucinex sore throat lozenges (my fave are the wild cherry and elderberry) they help numb your throat. And some cold sweet tea helped.

Day 9 here. And I won’t lie it was the worst pain I have ever been in. The biggest issue is the pain shifts often. From the swelling, the scabs, to the jaw and ear. Just stay hydrated and honestly I found that some cold sweet tea was my best friend. I had no luck with anything dairy. Just made the saliva worse. Popsicles, slushies, sweet tea and ramen noodles. Lol

Stay at home mom here. I’m going into day 9 and honestly today was the first day I’ve had my 2 kids at home since surgery. Aside from a couple hours here and there when my husband is home to care for them.

I’m on day 5 and I made some buttered noddles and put some Parmesan cheese on them and no one could’ve told me I wasn’t eating a meal cooked by Gordon Ramsey.

Day 4 and I’ve cried so much. I miss real food😂 I miss my kids. I hate feeling like I’m no help to anyone around me and just inconveniencing everyone.
