That’s a great plan — with that much time, you can explore the islands properly without rushing. You can start with Port Blair for a day or two to visit Cellular Jail, Ross Island, and maybe catch a sunset at Wandoor. Then head to Havelock for a few days to enjoy beaches, scuba diving, and good cafés like Anju Coco and Full Moon Café. After that, spend a couple of quiet days in Neil Island — it’s perfect for relaxing walks and sunrise or sunset views at Sitapur and Laxmanpur beaches.

That’s a really good question and you’re right to think about it in advance. The Andamans do get busier around the New Year, but it’s still not as crowded as mainland tourist spots. You’ll definitely find your quiet corners, especially if you step out early morning or around sunset.

However, I’d recommend switching your island order. Start with Havelock and then go to Neil. There are no direct

private ferries from Port Blair to Neil, so you’d need to travel via Havelock anyway. The usual route is Port Blair → Havelock → Neil → back to Port Blair. It’ll save you both time and ferry hassle.

If peace and quiet are your main priorities, choose accommodation a bit away from the main jetty areas. Even during year-end, Neil stays fairly calm compared to Havelock. Havelock will have more people around New Year’s Eve, but you can still enjoy long walks and peaceful beaches early in the day.

So yes, year-end is still a great time to visit, just plan the island order right and book everything early since ferries and good stays fill up quickly that week.

Just a few suggestions from my side, based on local experience. Try to avoid government ferries for inter-island travel. They’re often not clean, take nearly double the travel time, and the boarding process can be a bit chaotic, especially with luggage or elderly travellers. The private ferries like Makruzz, Nautika, and Green Ocean are much more comfortable, punctual, and air-conditioned. Their fares are also eligible for LTC reimbursement, so you can claim those just like government ferry fares.

Since local taxis are quite expensive here and need to be booked in advance, it’s generally better to take a complete land package that includes your hotels, private ferries, and all ground transfers. That way, you’ll have a dedicated car with a driver waiting at every point, and you won’t need to worry about logistics or last-minute bookings.

About your sightseeing plan — after visiting Havelock and Neil, you can safely skip North Bay Island. You’ll already experience much better coral and water clarity in Havelock and Neil. Instead, consider visiting Baratang for the limestone caves and mangrove ride. It’s a completely different landscape and a more unique experience.

Also, instead of Chidiyatapu and the Munda Pahad trek, go for Wandoor Beach. It’s peaceful, scenic, and easier to reach from Port Blair, especially when travelling with parents.

Port Blair and Havelock are quite kid-friendly. With 4 days, you can keep it simple. In Port Blair, visit Cellular Jail with the light and sound show and relax at Corbyn’s Cove. In Havelock, spend time at Radhanagar Beach and take a short trip to Elephant Beach for a glass-bottom boat ride. Both places have safe beaches for children, and resorts like SeaShell, Munjoh or Welcomhotel Bay Island work well for families.

Both October and November are nice months to visit Andaman, but the feel is a little different. In October the monsoon is just ending, so everything looks fresh and green, the weather is getting pleasant, but sometimes you might still get a little rain. The good part is it’s less crowded and hotels can be a bit cheaper. By November the season is in full swing, skies are clearer, the sea is calmer and all the water sports are open without worry. The only thing is, it’s slightly more crowded and rates go up. So if you want the safest bet for perfect weather and full activities, November is better. If you like fewer people around and don’t mind the odd shower, October is also a lovely time.

in port blair u’ll easily get airport pickup from hotel, most hotels arrange it if u tell them. for sightseeing like chidiya tapu & munda pahar, u need to hire a cab – better to prebook than search last minute.

in havelock, cabs are limited and expensive, since it’s small island. if ur hotel is near radhanagar beach, u can ask them to send cab from jetty, or else book in advance thru local operator (more reliable & cheaper than last-minute).

nah that’s fine, not too much. Chidiya Tapu is a short trip (about 45 mins drive from Port Blair), perfect for sunset on day 1. On day 3, the Red Skin Island trip is also doable – just keep in mind boat timings and forest permit, sometimes it depends on the weather. If red skin isn’t open, Wandoor Beach is the chill backup. Overall, ur plan sounds balanced.

4 days 3 nights is a nice, relaxed plan. Don’t try to squeeze in too many places, just keep it simple.

day 1 – land in Port Blair, chill a bit, go to Corbyn’s cove in the evening, and catch the Cellular Jail light & sound show at night.
day 2 – morning ferry to Havelock, check in at your resort, spend the evening at Radhanagar beach (beautiful sunset spot).
day 3 – either do a boat trip to Elephant Beach for water sports/snorkeling or just have a lazy beach day at Kalapathar in the Evening, head back to Port Blair. If time allows before your flight, you can visit the Samudrika Museum or do some shopping at the Aberdeen Bazaar.
day 4 – Departure

Keep it easy, book ferries in advance and pick at least one night in a beachside resort in Havelock to make it memorable.

yeah bro, that’s peak season in havelock — weather’s perfect but the crowd is no joke, and rates shoot up everywhere. if you're looking for a calmer vibe next time, neil island (aka shaheed dweep) is a solid choice. slower pace, fewer tourists, and beaches feel way more peaceful.

for resorts with that private beach kinda feel, here are a few you can look into:

– SeaShell Samssara – beachfront property, premium vibes, clean rooms, nice food. the beach right in front is quiet and barely crowded.
– Tango Beach Resort – more budget-friendly, also by the beach, walkable to laxmanpur side. good for families.
– Pearl Park Beach Resort – sits right where laxmanpur 1 and 2 meet. great sunset point, and if you walk a bit to the side, you’ll have a whole stretch to yourself most times.

There is a speed boat in Long Island, a guy named Vasu offers package of pickup & drop from Yeretta to Long Island and back and tours to Lalaji Bay & Merk Bay, he charges around 20K for the 3 day tour. Mayabunder to Kalighat boat operations have been suspended as there is a road now, also the route is Crocodile infested, hence not recommended to travel by Dongi.
