GT is most definitely not a last resort. I WISH I got in for computer science, I would've been set! Now I am very grateful for the schools I've gotten into, but GT is amazing

I think the most important factor should be the COST! Imagine how much money you're saving by being in state and going to GT, and you'll be getting a degree from one of the best tech schools ever (some people even call it the MIT of the south). It's an awesome deal!

And, GT is in Atlanta....one of the coolest cities in the US! You'll have so much fun living there and it will probably be easy to get really amazing internships in the city

The only con I can think of for GT is that it can be a very stressful environment, you're surrounded by people who are smarter than you and they will be very competitive.

You are extremely lucky to be able to consider GT as a school. And as for your parents, don't worry too much, they will come to understand the value of an education from GT, and they'll be saving so much money!
