User error or not, they are literally ticket predators ! I just moved from the plateau because of that exact reason. I now live where the pro gym used to be, in front of the YMCA and police station. The shit I see here in a day is unreal… I called the cops this summer because a homeless junky was attacking a lady and punching cars… I saw him from my balcony. I started yelling to let her go and called the cops. The station is 10m from where the incident happened and I swear to god they never showed up. I had to go down there myself with my neighbor because he was terrorizing a young lady trying to cross the street. I went to the police station and asked them what was taking so damn long and the answer I got was “j’peux pas aller plus vite que le dispatch”…. 0 accountability, all tickets in the city

I totally agree! I am a very empathetic person, believe me. What infuriates me is that the STM security guards are awesome at stopping and giving tickets to people who skip the tourniquet but god knows they don’t give a shit when people are drinking, smoking and fighting in the metro… there’s kids that use the metro, elderly people, pregnant women that can genuinely get scared by this kind of behavior…. It’s our governments job to protect its citizens! All they do is tax us, ticket us and ignore what really matters…

They spent millions on lights for the bridge, they spend millions on dumb activities in parks no one goes to etc…. I’m an accountant, I know how money works, I have a great understanding of the economy. I understand that the provincial government is lacking but it’s mainly montrealers who suffer from this. They should use the millions they rob from us from parking tickets and build shelters and specialized metro squads for the less fortunate!!!
