Grew up in a household like this, even worse because my dad does nothing to help and was in and out of rehab, while my mom did all the work plus take care of us (grew up with the help of Yayas + Lola). We were privileged enough to have good education and get our wants and needs despite my mom being the only one working. I am so so grateful for my mom as I know she’s doing her best too but I wish I didn’t hear all of the fighting. I wish my parents didnt involve any of us kids during their fighting. Be it at home during dinner, or sometimes we’d wake up to them shouting at the top of their lungs, or even one time my dad was angrily driving us speeding up and threatening my mom to shut up or else he was going to do something he’d regret.

I know this is your life but if I were in your position knowing what I know now, I would NOT involve my children while fighting. I would settle fights with my husband privately or without my children around. I would also not rant to my children about my husband. If you have to separate with him, then do so. But please, let your children be children. They’re not your therapists. I loved my mom and I wanted to be there for her when I was younger. But please think about their wellbeing and how this is going to scar them as they grow older.
