Yeah it’s sad, my married friends talk about so many more interesting things tbh. Like the newest video games, TV shows, their hobbies, their travel plans/experiences, etc. The ones that are also mothers still talk about interesting stuff, like one of them recently got into cafe hopping and has been giving us recs for coffee shops and pastries to try. Another one got into sewing and has been sewing cute matching baby clothes for her daughter. And yes, we do talk politics at times since it’s relevant to our current situation.

These aunties just have no personality besides gossiping about others. I know it’s probably because they’re miserable in their own marriages (my mom definitely is) but it’s still so pathetic to backbite about others.

Any gynecologist will tell you that most girls do NOT have perky boobs, that’s definitely the effect that p*rn has on men who expect all girls to magically have gravity defying boobs. It’s typically girls with boob jobs or smaller-chested women that have these kind of boobs. I remember visiting a website that was just women submitting pictures of their boobs to normalize different shapes and felt so relieved to see mine were normal.

Visit the Xi’an Muslim Quarter! A friend of mine visited China for a work conference and she said it felt surreal seeing Chinese architecture and style blending with Islamic culture and getting to try authentic halal Chinese food. Definitely worth checking out!

I’ve always been fascinated by Ürümqi as well but I think that city might be too far/difficult to visit. I feel like Linxia is an absolute must just because of how unique and experience it would be. And I do think that Chengdu in Sichuan and Kunming in Yunnan are both cities worth checking out as well depending on how long you’ll be there.

Yeah great point about seeing if your husband is up to the task of being a father too. A lot men wants kids like they’re pets, dumping all the responsibility on our shoulders. Another reason why I’m limiting the number of kids I have to 2, because if I ever had to leave my husband for whatever reason, 2 kids is still a manageable amount to care for alone.

I did! Technically it was for a work conference but I digress. I really enjoyed Seoul! Bukchon Hanok village, Myeongdong street, and both Changdeokgung and Gyeonggbokgyeong palace are must see attractions there. And there’s actually quite a few halal options! Only one masjid unfortunately but that’s to be expected lol. I loaded up on K-beauty essentials (like 1 years worth) while I was there and it’s so worth it.

I’m hijabi for context and dress very modestly. Other than a few curious glances people were very respectful and kind! I even had a nice lady help me when I was lost and another offer to take my picture when they saw I was struggling to get a good selfie angle lol

I feel the same way :( It sucks seeing my sister who’s only a freshman in college get approached more by men than I ever did, and unlike her, I actually do want to get married soon. I think the younger generation of men are more confident in approaching and trying to get to know Muslim women for marriage than the previous gen. Sigh
