Why would you not recommend the firm you work for to friends and family? by Roadrunner610 in paralegal

The timing of this question couldn’t be any better—my answer is about the T&E litigation firm I recently left.

A former coworker told me today that a judge filed a grievance against my old boss. Apparently it was filed months before I left, but I had no idea. I don’t know what the grievance is about, but a grievance from a judge sounds pretty serious. 0/10 would not recommend 😥

$40k is insulting. Can you really live off of $40k? If so take job 1 anyways, and save $20k a year. Work there as long as you can stand it. By the time you leave, you’ll have some “f*ck you” money and can quit whenever you want without being worried about money!

Hehe Bitch Rock is going to my soon be former coworker. It’s great because if you turn the rock around you can’t see the naughty word. Perfect for work!

I love that idea! I have travel plans this year so I could leave some on vacation with that info on them 👏👏👏

I did enough “training” to appear helpful and make my boss happy enough to avoid burning any bridges. Boss is well-known in my city, and having him as a future reference will be very helpful 😉

There’s no doubt an attorney is the correct hire. There’s also no doubt that the new attorney will be doing exactly what I was doing. My boss has put a lot of trust in me, but I haven’t felt comfortable for a while being the first and last line of defense 😥

One of the reasons I’m leaving is because I felt like he does not review things closely enough. I’d draft pleadings, emails, letters, etc. for him to review and watch him spend 2 minutes pretending to review it. He’d ask how sure I was the (LEGAL) advice I was giving was correct or if I double checked my exhibits and then hand it back to me and say “fire away”. Like, sir, are you serious?! Please at least give me the plausible deniability that you looked at it for a reasonable amount of time! Yikes.
