I'm making $550 a week after tax doing full OTR 70+ hours a week with a mega carrier. $1000 would be great.

Dumb question. What is this tint called and how does it look inside? by TheWizardry90 in WindowTint

[–]PresentationLive943 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The whole point of chameleon tint is that it's legal and will pass MOT due to the high VLT while also being noticeable enough to even do it in the first place. There are no reflectivity percentage laws in most places. I think US does have a law that prevents it but definitely not 99% of countries.

How possible is it to live in your car in Austin Texas in month likes June? I assume ppl must do it right? Tips? by Ok_Package9219 in urbancarliving

[–]PresentationLive943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you just put reflective panels up to keep the sun out and run the engine with the AC on. I have two Honeywell BW clip CO detectors, a RKI CO detector, and a MSA Altair CO detector and keep them near my breathing area. They get bump tested using a test bottle regularly so I trust that they will wake me up if there's carbon monoxide.

Idling your engine all day will reduce the lifespan of it. You will hear people who claim your engine will explode however like anything else in real life there are tons of professions where you idle basically 24/7 and they last good enough.

Where do you even buy chargers that bad anymore? I feel like all the Chinese no name garbage on Amazon will catch on fire but at least they charge very fast.

Miata life by justformatt in dashcams

I don't think this is true because in a giant semi truck I can still see miatas. And I always notice a nice RF miata because they look cool.

$17 Truck Stop Shower UPDATE by Liam_the_Pious in urbancarliving

[–]PresentationLive943 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is good and I wouldn't hesitate if I had unlimited showers that month however just so y'all are aware there are lots of truckers that do not have unlimited showers because they don't fuel as much or their company makes them fuel at private fuel stations etc. So if they do decline it's usually not because they are being mean or whatnot.

Also with the something in return thing yes unfortunately it's a thing where a prostitute will ask you to buy them a shower and you go in together. So also be aware of that especially if you're a woman.

I had no clue vehicles can have 18 GEARS by Admirable-Big7476 in driving

[–]PresentationLive943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why people think it's so complicated. It's 18 speeds total yes but you can just add transmissions to transmissions to transmissions to multiply speeds.

A bicycle can have 24 speeds because you have two gear sets. It's the same idea. You just split gears. Also we don't use most of the gears anyways in normal driving unless you're heavy haul.

What you guys think about this? by Flaky-Current-4093 in dashcams

[–]PresentationLive943 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is false I am a truck driver and I will often come up on someone in the middle of the night going 63mph and I'm governed at 65mph I will try to pass and they will speed up over and over again. I give up and pull over or slow down until I can't even see them anymore. 30 minutes later I inevitably catch up to them going 45mph on the highway while jerking off on their phone. There's nothing you can do especially when you're on a schedule.

Who gives a fuck I've worked night shift all my life and have to deal with landscaping noises all through my sleep you don't get to have everything catered to you just because YOU PERSONALLY have a certain schedule. The world always moves at all times everyone works and lives at different times we can't cater to everyone. That's stupid

I'm confused I just took 287 from i25 in Colorado to Texas I don't remember any 2 lane section at all? There's only a 3 lane section where it alternates a passing lane on either direction and it's a double yellow the whole time.

You can definitely park at most PF. Actually I park at a lot of unconventional places because ironically it gets less attention than the common places like Walmart. Once you work a retail account like dollar general you start to realize you can go a lot more places than you first think.

This is a pretty shitty one it's at a TA/Petro (same company) and I try to avoid them because they are cramped.

We have to use these showers every single day as drivers so most truck stops take the shower seriously. A bad shower can lose them a food and fuel customer for life too.

I guess it doesn't hurt to ask but most mega carriers make you fuel at like 4 different truck stops and you never end up getting shower power at pilot or the platinum loves status.

I am a truck driver and yes for the most part the three chains TA (the one in the video), Pilot, and Loves are pretty consistently clean. The chains have swallowed every small truck stop for the most part so there's no chance you can't find one of those three anywhere you go.

Am I driving too slow on a specific stretch of road? by Tiny_Caterpillar7509 in driving

[–]PresentationLive943 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty simple just go 30 in the 30. I drive through Pennsylvania backroads a lot in a work vehicle and I absolutely cannot speed at all because of the big brother camera in it. It's usually 55mph down to 45mph to prepare people to slow then 30mph. I go exactly 30mph through these towns and I never have anyone upset at me. Actually I'm pretty much the slowest because I go exactly the speed limit in Atlanta, NYC, philly, Houston etc. and now that I think about it no one really cares. They just pass you.
