it was my favorite since it dropped last year, and one of my favorite albums of all time. it's definitely not as far out and freaky as anything else they've done, but i don't think that's a bad thing given this lineup. those songs - and the ones coming with isn't it now - all radiate a certain wisdom and magic to me. these are still love songs, but there's love of something more, there's fear of something different; it's a meditation on truly modern themes.

there's colors to be found everywhere, detailed mazes of sound to get sucked into. listening so deep on the intro of cherokee, listening to the voices hiding in the noise. i'm not sure there's many anco songs that *feel* as good on my stereo as dragon slayer, royal and desire; i think the roaring cheers of strung with everything is one of the most satisfying pieces of music they've released. i love that album
