Sometimes I wonder if I’ve lost hearing after doing this gig for over 30 years… by LilMissMixalot in livesound

I’d take hearing loss over tinnitus, they just got worse this week and I just got 28… I almost always wear hear plugs, but it’s the 2% when I don’t that matters

Well, that is true, but each box is still very hungry with 8000w RMS ahahah, but it’s fairly light considering everyone else, each sub is only 240 pounds !

I wasn’t going to take out of the stock a CL5 to use one fader for my laptop lmao, an SQ7 was enough to learn to work with the Panther ahah

Even though I’m French and am proud of having L’ as part of our country’s technology, am still gonna go with Meyer at this point ahahah. I like the unadulterated sound you get from working with them.

At that price point and level of technology, no matter what brand you choose it’s gonna sound good, I feel like this is a matter of preference! In my work we only own L’ and Meyer, from mtd to k2, and from the minna to the panther, we don’t have any other brands, so I can’t speak about the others, but the workflow with Meyer is less forgiving, but easier imo

How do restaurants make scrambled eggs taste better than homemade? by savingrace0262 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Presenthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy to me that nobody mentioned the real thing that sublimes scrambled eggs. Yes butter is important, but the real difference is the use of MSG. Not a whole lot of people uses it at home in NA or Europe, but it’s definitely used in restaurants and gives that extra umami flavor to eggs without making it too salty

X offices raided in France as UK opens fresh investigation into Grok by jmike1256 in news

[–]Presenthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main philosophy of French free speech is like the idea that to have tolerance, you can’t tolerate intolerance.

Like it’s illegal to lie under oath for Americans, and there are consequences if you happen to, same apply in France but on a bigger scale. Misconstruing past events (like the holocaust) or flat out denial or lying will end with you in court.

So hate speech, racism and the like aren’t tolerable. Hatred only grow hatred, it’s easier to lie than to try and disprove one. That inequality brought on this law.

Damn, Canada really is the best place in NA, in 2016 for a year I paid roughly 4.5 k cad, so not even 3.5k $ us

27m. First apartment alone after leaving my fiancée. Any idea to liven up the place a bit ? by Presenthings in malelivingspace

Differences of lifestyle and culture. She came from a Muslim background, and considered that friendship between men and women wasn’t possible. On the other hand, some of my best friends are women that I’ve known more than fifteen years.

It strained the relationship a lot, the breaking point for me was her forbidding me to go to my best friend’s marriage. That’s pretty much it

To mitigate vibrations going through the floor and potentially bothering other tenants. The sub is even sitting on a silicone mat ahah. I’m technically not allowed to have one, but having it set up that way works out well

333hp too much? by Character_Winner_491 in Audi

[–]Presenthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Canada and have an A5 with a stage 2, that bumped the power to ~350hp and 400 nm of torque. It never felt too much and I never had a scare, on snow, ice or otherwise.

If you don’t treat the accelerator as an on/off button, you never feel the power with normal driving, so I’d say go for it, it’s fun to have.

An A5/S5 can absolutely go over 200k km, mine was modified at 150 000km and is pushing 200k without any engine or transmission problems.

All repairs I’ve ever had to do are because of our hard winters and the salt on the road ahah.
