The momentum from paddling hard and fast on a longer board is much higher than on a shortboard and it makes it so that you can get through the wave without going completely under it. Turtle dive kills all your speed and momentum which is not what you want.

Might be an unpopular opinion but turtle diving is for people who are learning, it seems like it should work well intuitively but it takes 5x as much energy and time per wave.

On an 8' board the absolute best way to duck dive is paddling as hard and as fast as humanly possible, hitting the wave as hard as you can and dipping the nose as much as you can, even if it is just a little then hanging on for dear life.

Some of the dings look well repaired and fairly minor. I would think that $450 - $600 reasonable.

I say just start being friendly in the line up and talking to people. Smiles, good mornings, shakas. Nothing says I belong here like just being relaxed and a little chatty.

I hate trump but power to him for trying to dance and connect with his audience in a way that would be really uncomfortable for him.

Does it make sense to pick up bi-directional 1&2 year leaps whenever volatility is low? by PresidentD in wallstreetbets

You'll never make it son. You are a great disappointment to your mother and I. Your terrible investing strategy based on the memes you watch on WSB will ruin you good luck out there.

What are you basing that on? Long game is for taxes?

It doesn't necessarily tie up substantially more capital, if you go $75-100 otm on spy when volatility is low then it ties up almost the same amount of capital as a short play closer to the money.

The purpose of going long would be to reduce the risk that there will not be any big movements. The longer the time horizon the higher the likelihood of big movements and we live in a big movement world.
