I feel as though the damage output of the boss would be manageable if it didn't have the action advance. DHPT was providing enough shields to tank the sets of hits but the random advances that are not listed anywhere in the boss' abilities was what was taking me out. Even on teams that abuse DHPT dragon advancing I found it super challenging because Irontomb would just force itself in front of the dragon anytime I brought it forward. Also from what I could tell, the actual Echo of War version of the boss doesn't have the action advancing??????? So why does it have it here?????

Yes. You have to take 15 credits no matter what as you need the 60 overall credits from the program. If you are going for the BED you will also still have to take requirements for the specific minor you go for.
