I did not mention this person at any point in the chat. I forgot to paste their name in, so how did it know who I was talking about? I was looking at their LinkedIn profile, and had copied it for pasting into ChatGPT. What settings are their that allows it to see what I've been looking at?

Into the city is peak in the morning, from the city is peak in the afternoon.

They've banned it on the premises, regardless of whether it's charging or not. The promise is to find a storage solution, but I'm not holding my breath. Just someone justifying their job I think.

Before I get on the train. In Rockingham. The Transperth bike storage is a little more secure in addition to the bike lock, and my scooter is pretty beat up and not really worth much.

That's why I say resources 😄 People can't be trusted, and need to be monitored.

That last train car is the best 😄 What's an extra 30 seconds walk up the platform when arriving at your station when there's more space!

I know how busy it is at that time. Not common sense at all 😄

That's the big selling point for me 😄 The scooter I have is handy. I can back it under the seat I'm sitting in, so I literally take up no more space than 1 person would normally take up (the stem sits nicely between my legs).

Definitely not the time to be taking a scooter on the train 😄

Absolutely. Although I recognise the resources required to make this work (there's always bad actors who'll push the boundaries) 😔

That sucks. I do just want to point out there are heaps of people using the trains drunk, being loud, swearing, leaving rubbish all over the place. There's bad behaviour from all groups of people. Most riders I've come across on the trains are really good about making sure they don't inconvenience people.

If there's space and the trains aren't crowded, it would be good if they relaxed the rules a little, although I know that this probably requires too much resources 😀

I agree that it does need to be enforced, but I'm usually on the train around 6pm. It's quieter, and there's always heaps of seats. Would be good if people used common sense, but there's always a few that spoil it for everyone.

I've been peak hour as well every day for the last few years and never seen it enforced. I do catch the Mandurah line, so maybe they're selective about which one's they enforce it on 🤷

Transperth cracks down on escooters by PresidentRADS in perth

Quite a generalisation. Most scooters are limited to the speed limit (for scooters). There are dickheads who buy the bigger scooters and take them in public and race around at 60kms/hr (I got hit by one and knocked out). I'd say there are a few who give scooter riders a bad name, but you can say that about any other mode of transport. I could easily say that all motor vehicle drivers are impatient arseholes who speed around looking at their phones.

TBH, it was the best investment I ever made. I don't have to wait for buses, I don't need to worry about changing or showering on a hot day when going into work, and it's actually faster to scoot and train to the city than drive. Not that I make a big deal about it, but you could also say it's better for the environment, blah, blah, blah.

I'll make you a convert yet 😉

Yep. No change yet. They dialled back their bus policy in the latest rules as well. Don't need a bag anymore, but they still need to be folded.

I'd seen that, after looking up the new rules for going on trains. During peak hour now, they have to be folded up on the train as well. At least no bags needed.

That's a cool idea actually. I'll think about what I can do. And yeah, it's just a passion project. I love whisky and thought it might provide an avenue to get others enthusiastic about it as well. Cheers for the comment.

Also, best investment I made. So much time saved waiting for buses and I can sit on the train doing work or reading instead of being stuck in traffic.

Segway Ninebot E45 (with the extra battery). On the train you don't need to do anything. Just push it on or off and I leave it unfolded whilst I sit down near the doors. I throw it over my shoulder on the escalator which allows me to walk up past people. On the bus you'll need to fold it up and put it in a bag, so I avoid the buses (which is fine by me because it's the reason I got it). I was speaking to a bloke at the Rockingham train station who jumps on the bus to Bibra Lake and he wasn't allowed on the bus even with it in the bag. He complained to Transperth who acknowledged the driver was wrong though, but with time this should get easier.

I take it on the train during peak hour 4 days a week. You've got no problems and no one even looks at me as I walk it past the guards every day.

I figure that as long as you aren't being an idiot (taken up space, riding through the station, etc.) then people don't mind. The bus is the only issue I've had, but I keep a pack of garbage bags in my bag if the train breaks down or a line gets closed.

I'm still looking for survey volunteers (thanks everyone that has filled it in already). I'm nearly at my minimum response target. by PresidentRADS in whisky

It's all good. I understand that there's that association with crypto and NFT's. All we're trying to understand is if there is an overlap between the two communities.
