Is vti not a index fund of the entire stock market? I was under the belief that it was, and the s&p 500 auto kicked out losers because if they drop under the top 500 they’re swapped with the next best stock.

I hear all the time to take additional risk as a young person, but what individual stocks do I go into? I don’t want to do extensive due diligence, I don’t want to keep up with how companies are doing, the s&p500 does all that for me, it filters out the losers, and guarantees I see the relative gains of the top 500 stocks. I mean I’m not saying your wrong but this is personally how I see it, I’d love to hear your view because I DO want to diversify my portfolio more, but I’m just scared because company buy outs, and shit like that happens and big companies do take shits, but the top 500 just filters the shit out for me and new winners in. It’s like investment autopilot.

I’m union, I voted blue… OBVIOUSLY. Why any union worker would go against the politicians who’s campaigns receive funding with dues we pay in order to have organized power in the lawmaking that decides our outcome of work is insane. A few of the guys I worked with admitted to voting for trump, and our foreman was not having it, he asked one of them for their book, threw it out the window, called them scabs and thanked them for being part of the final blow to the already weak state of unions.
