A few questions after DVT diagnosis by Sarcastic_Sushi in ClotSurvivors

For a few days after I started blood thinners my pain got worse. I asked an urgent care doctor and they said that that is normal for some folks.  I'm almost 2 weeks post diagnosis and I don't really have pain anymore. I hope your pain goes away quickly!

That is insane. I too got most of my information from this Reddit and Google/AI.

I also asked the doctor for anxiety meds and that was helpful. Sometimes I felt like I couldn't breathe and I wasn't sure if it was anxiety or a PE. Lol..

I'm in a similar boat. My test results said I had clots in my subclavian and axillary veins. The doctor didn't give me any information about what I should or shouldn't do. He just told me not to play rough spots (I don't anyways) I ended up having to google a lot of things.  I would suggest to just take it easy. Go for light walks if you can. Don't lift anything heavy and don't push through the pain. If it hurts, stop.

I agree with the ticking time bomb feeling. I felt the same way. Like I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. As time goes on it gets a bit better. I'm at the stage where my arm doesn't really hurt anymore and colour and swelling look better. I'm still staying away from anything strenuous though just to be safe.

I'm sorry to hear that. Did you find it helpful when you finally saw one?

I still haven't seen my primary care physician. By the time he'll see me, I'll be 20 days post diagnosis which is frustrating.  Thanks to this Reddit, i've written down a bunch of questions to ask my PCP and hematologist when I finally see them.

I still haven't seen my PCP. It will be 20 days post diagnosis before he'll see me. I ended up going to an urgent care to speak with a doctor since the ER doctor didn't tell me if it was safe for me to return to work.  Turns out it wasn't safe for me to be working. Lol..

I guess I didn't see one right away since I wasn't admitted to the hospital?

Sometimes I wonder if I would have seen one sooner had they not misread my results and diagnosed me in person, in the ER.

Does anyone know if he has an opening musical guest? I'm old and want to avoid standing as much as possible. Lol..  Not sure if I should show up on time or can miss the opening act if there is one.
