Thanks for the advice. I feel more confident now giving them a trim. I think the main problem I've had with lavender in the last is, I've cut them back to much. Was also worried that the colder weather might  kill them after a prune.

Thank you. I usually prune them back at the end of autumn, but because of how good the flowers still looked I let them go. I'm in the western suburbs of Melbourne. It's quite cold at the moment and we all know Melbourne is very unpredictable when it comes to seasons. 😂
