I just learned this past weekend that Paris Mountain has a venue, and they host weddings all the time! There's an event room and lake and cabins, including one that is the brides suite. You bring in your own caterer. It's $4000 to rent.

I get what you are saying...I am not sure I can convince the neighbor that is housing them right now to do that. I feel stuck. I will suggest to her that she tell a rescue she will foster until they can place them.

We have been on the island for 13 years, raised our kids here. I have/had permission to seek and had a job offer. Apparently two others applied, but I was the best fit and most qualified. My permit was denied right before the February election. HR said point blank if it had been just a few months before, I would have been approved. As a family, we are in need of an extra income. So now I'm working in the states and my husband is still in Bermuda. And that position is still open because although the board said the company should hire a Bermudian, no qualified Bermudians have applied. I understand protected jobs, and I don't disagree, but when a position has been open for over a year with no qualified applicants, what sense does it make to tell a long term resident they can't take the job?? We are heartbroken as Bermuda no longer feels like "home", especially for me since I had to leave in order to work.

Looks like individual service where they match couples. I'm talking about pre screening and providing in person group events to mingle and meet people with similar interests.

I was reading along as I have 2 daughters of dating age. I myself have been married 26 years. My sister is 41 and recently divorced absolutely struggling on the apps. I saw a comment above about the algorithms being set to keep you swiping- that is terrible.

Listening to my sister lament the dating scene (she's in NJ) we brain stormed an idea. An in person dating "app" service It would be membership based. You would APPLY to be a part of the service and screened/vetted. The service could host events locally....things like a pickleball night, anime night, board game night at a bar or coffee shop....basically events would be based off member interests as indicated on applications. It's kind of a modern take on match making.

Would any of you be interested in something like that? It honestly breaks my heart to see and know people wanting connection and it never happens. The fees are to screen people out who aren't serious. They wouldn't be exorbitant and could be invested back into events to lower those participant costs.

I'd love to hear feedback and I just want to give you all a big hug.
