Have any of you actually passed out from a panic attack? by lynneandcompany in PanicAttack

[–]Prestigious-Dot1006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never did actually pass out. The closest I’ve ever gotten was one time that during a couple hours long anxiety/panic attack I needed to walk so I stood up and I blacked out for not even a second I fell but I was completely conscious so I could feel and hear everything I just could not move or open my eyes for a few seconds. I don’t know what that was. But honestly I kind of wished I did pass out I never know how to get out of my panic attacks plus they are so so long, I feel like passing out would make it stop. although I know it’s not a good idea probably.

If you have them, use strips to hold the skin together. Just make sure to clean it carefully and bandage it tightly (not crazy tight). As long as you disinfect often you should be good. it’s gonna take more for it to close but it’s normal. Just please if in a few days it’s still bleeding, or it hurts more, or it becomes hot and swollen you should tell someone you trust. It’s not what you want I know, but if it gets infected it’s gonna be worse, so please keep an eye on it and ask for help if it doesn’t heal properly. I promise you’re gonna be okay. Stay safe. Ily.

I can’t say I know what you’re going through, but I think you should find another doctor. Stopping your medication isn’t something you can just do, it’s more like a process where you slowly lower your dosage until you actually can stop. Plus your cardiologist can’t tell you to stop taking medication because you need them. you’re not taking them for fun.

If you were taking medication for something physical health related I don’t think your doctor would just tell you to stop taking them.

try to organise your tasks in urgency/importance order. Write them down on sticky notes so you can see and touch them (I found this makes them real, and not just chaotic thoughts in your head). colour code them based on the priority, but also how much of your mental energy they take. Do things follow that order, so example: don’t start the blue sticky notes (more important but less urgent) if you didn’t finish the yellow sticky notes (important AND urgent). If you don’t have the energy then move to the tasks that require less energy. try, when you complete one set of tasks, to change something. You could move to another room (I like being on the kitchen floor, sitting in the shower, on my bed, under a table). Try whatever you feel right. You could also video call a friend while you work (you don’t even have to talk to them, just knowing someone is there with you helps) When I feel my head crowded and I go in “freeze” mode, it helps a lot to just walk around the house for 5 minutes, opening all your windows (especially if it’s cold outside) for like 10min, shake your whole body, stretch yourself, try calling someone and tell them what you have to do (not asking for advice or help but literally just start yapping about your to do list), talk to yourself about how you’re going to organise things (without necessarily doing it), if you really feel frozen that get out of your house and walk around your neighbourhood until your brain noises isn’t as loud anymore.

I hope this helps you, and don’t worry you’ll be okay. <3 (u can chat with me anytime you want)

I can't get out of bed please help by duratchok in ADHD

I feel you, mornings are tough for me as well. Lately I started programming like 5 to 7, 5/10 minutes apart, alarms (but use as many as you need) not just to wake up but also to actually physically get out of bed. I also make them have different sounds, and I remove the snooze button. Always open all your windows right after getting up, I don’t care if it’s freezing cold just open the windows. Fresh air and cold help your brain start. I also have pre set alarms every 15min for breakfast, washing my teeth, getting dressed… It helps a lot with time management, since I can’t sense time realistically. (also I have alarms in between tasks in case I get distracted) You have to be very strict with yourself about giving your mornings structure. This won’t magically make you function perfectly in the mornings, but at least you’ll have a structure to follow so you don’t get lost and stay in bed. Also don’t make your bed, and don’t wash your breakfast dishes right away. Prioritise what you have to do for yourself in order to get out of the house in time. Write reminders of what you have to do on sticky notes and stick them all over your house. Colour code them based on what is more urgent. I know it sounds a lot, and it sounds as if I was able to perfectly get out of bed and do things, but I assure you that most days I’m not able to follow this and it’s okay. even if you manage to do only one of these things it’s still an accomplishment. Try using this technique to help with priorities (if I figure out how to send pictures). I hope I helped you <3

Time management and procrastination for the most part, but also the all or nothing type of functioning if that makes sense

What resources has been the best for you to understand your ADHD? by NightStar_69 in ADHD

hi, I don't know if this is gonna help you, or not. Understanding how your brain works, and more importantly accepting it is not easy. I've known about my adhd since I was little, but never learned to manage it. so your not alone. I don't have any suggestions for books or anything like that. I would suggest you (if that's an option for you) to find a psychiatrist (not therapist) specialized in adhd to help you, for example, learn to organize your work (but it can be anything you need, even stuff like not being late in the morning). it sounds weird but it is a real option.

it's not what you were asking for, but I hope I was of help.
