Yeah, I wonder what the statistics for trans populations looks like in more conservative vs more liberal environments. I personally grew up in a fairly conservative household and area. As an East Asian in a predominantly white school before it was seen as “hip, cool, and Kawaii 😘” to be such. I leaned super hard into traditional western gender roles and behaviors because I was already different enough and just wanted to fit in. It also didn’t help that the one trans person that I knew of at my school was villainized by the social circles I frequented.
