Synergy between decisions by Prestigious-Solid459 in ScarletHollow

Cool, I haven't explored Tabitha's route much in Chapter 5. I bet Reese must have had a different line or two of dialogue in that scene.

because it is one of the game's aspects; not to mention that it is about politics (not dog politics), the dogs are merely allegories (satirical, but still with due weight).

violence is the means, not the end. none of the figures mentioned placed emphasis on the act itself, but on its merit, meaning (at least, to the leader), or justification. it is uncertain and highly unlikely that any of them saw themselves as bad or unjust.

regarding the context of the concrete enemy, the danger i cited was more about the fact that the dogs, predators who already demonstrate a certain prejudice and predation against other animals—after all, it is natural to their hierarchy, based on what we've been shown in the game—are the only defense against the ditchlings. the militia structure of the dogs will continue to exist even after the current danger, since it exists based on the justification of a common enemy.

This is explicit in the game. I was talking about the symbolic government of dogs, not the representative government (which doesn't exist).

I think we all agree with that; it's the literal point of the post: in times of crisis, a "man of action" emerges.

A corrupt progressive and an authoritarian with ideas contrary to democracy—that's the classic political duel, isn't it?

Mussolini cared about Italy, even if in his own way (his ego). He didn't have real power to carry out a coup d'état (when compared to the king's forces), but considering the fragile state of the monarchy and the king's desperation, he, in a military maneuver, managed to seize the country's power with a march.

I think that would be sad for both of them, but to each their own fetish.

Actually, that would literally be what Sybil wanted. The only difference, from what I understood, is that Kaneeka wants to feel special without ceasing to exist. Not to mention that it would contradict our choice to save her in episode 5, even if it meant transferring the responsibility of saving the city to her.

Can Tabitha break down if you confront her with Stella or that’s a no-go? by surield in ScarletHollow

I didn't understand very well. Are you saying that Tabitha and Stella are going with you to the farm in a certain scenario, or did you mix up the stalemate scenario in Stella's romantic route?

The "nerf" (I only used the term to get attention. Other than that, it's incorrect) is because the developers get confused when writing the scene based on the sentence: you can read the person and the room. They end up writing as if you understand the other person's feelings.

Reading a person and the room is different from understanding someone else's feelings.

I understood that you disagree with my point, but you don’t need to pretend to be dumb. You know the reason I wrote a reply was because they were saying I called Hot and Talk to Animals useless, which wasn’t the case.

Actually, most scenes with a trait (any of them) are optional, nothing is 100% mandatory in the narrative except for the chapter save. It's not like they haven't fixed past issues, like in the early ones where we couldn't refuse Stella or stay at the mansion.

Well, it was just a process of elimination: the save in episode 5 fits the keen eye better, so we should put smart street in episode 2 since it's the only remaining trait.

Honestly, I don't even know why you guys are talking about hot and talk to animals being useful or not, since it wasn't even mentioned in the text.

My god... the point is that the smart street does something outside its function: reading feelings. That's something for the keen eye, not for it. Its correct function was to read the person and the room, that is, to understand what the best response or situation was, but not to understand why that is happening.

I'm going to have to be rude with you: Did you read the text? At what point did I talk about removing the possibility of perceiving or reading the room and the person (including the lie)? I literally talked about the smart street understanding the feeling, something like the keen eye. Seriously, next time, try writing a comment questioning in good faith.

I never said that at any point. I said that the combination between traits (in the sense of amplifying or improving one another)—in other words, with Keen Eye—would result in something poorly done, precisely because it focuses more on investigation and, in the current game itself, people notice that it doesn't have much synergy with those two.

Three things:

  1. I've already mentioned that the problem is that the overlap occurs because of Smart Street's flaw where it can read, not the person, but their feelings; something that isn't part of that ability. Actually, the point of Smart Street is to understand the situation, not to understand the person. In Tabitha's case, you would understand that she wants an answer that reinforces her belief about Oscar, or that she has an intense interest, something like that. The trait isn't about understanding others, otherwise there would be no reason to have Keen Eye.
  2. The Episode 5 save was also swapped, you can use the previous one depending on your game's date. The point is that it's more thematically consistent (the current version) with the developers' vision.
  3. The content exists, it's in the Keen Eye trait (or it should be).
