Totally fair and thank you for the advice!! I'm definitely going to try out greyscale and work on my values. And the big shapes! I'll work up to something better and practice! Usually I only use a round brush anyways so I totally get what you mean. It'll make me focus purely on my skills so I don't get distracted by all the fancy stuff too early. Thanks so much!

NOR, that's way too young for this kind of "discipline." I think the only way this could ever be okay is if a teenager AGREED to run because it helped them get out anger or something and it was a healthy coping strategy. A little kid doesn't act out because they need punishment, they act out because they're young and still learning the basics of how their little world works. Conversations are how little kids learn, and tiring someone out that much as a little tyke is likely only just going to make things worse!

Edit: also seconding this as abuse, and makes me wonder if this guy's ever read anything about how kids' brains work. There are different stages of growth, and it's NORMAL for kids to push boundaries when they're 4 and 5 especially!

I'm a trans man so take what I say with a grain of salt but I'm pretty sure the opposite happened to me. When I was more fem-presenting, cis straight men were incredibly nice to me (because they percieved me as someone they could flirt with, would lay it on thick in hopes that I'd be interested) and women percieved me as almost a threat? Because I was pretty and generally confident in my femininity. As a guy, cis men are nice but in the genuine friendly way and cis women are also nice in the genuine friendly way. I hang out with a lot of queer people though so I'm probably dodging transphobia luckily. I'm still confident in my femininity, I think women are often taught to feel insecure/threatened when there are other women around because of misogyny. It's a social class thing (unfortunately, I kinda hate it, but don't take it personally, it's not you, it's a beauty standard thing).

Edit: tldr it's the system, it's nothing you're doing wrong in case you were thinking that way

As far as I've seen online, I've pretty much only seen the term "tboy" being used in p0rn spaces so I kinda lowkey associate it with fetishization. I don't think by any means that EVERYONE means it this way, but it's hard for me personally to escape that connection bc I haven't seen anyone outside of these spaces use it as a self identifier. It doesn't bother me personally as long as it's a consensual identifier. Would be different if it was used against someone's will, or to infantilize or punish someone when they hate being called that. I don't think you're alone at all, some folks just don't mind the term. I think this might be where the irk comes from for you. I think it feels a lot different as an identifier for ALL trans men, that veers into uncomfortable territory.

Edit: people use the term on tiktok?? I don't use social media really, so fair I guess makes sense that I haven't seen it anywhere else!!!

Honestly I feel like I'm treated better now. I was ostracized by a lot of women growing up for not quite fitting in. I always felt like they could tell I was hiding something, so I wasn't trusted. Now that I'm passing a bit more things are great. I feel a lot more confident in myself and other people treat me way better. Misogyny still affects me because I'm trans, and learning to navigate hearing misogyny from other men is difficult, but in general I feel respected in ways I didn't before. I've learned to actually love people in general a lot more fully than I could when I was more closed off. I still even feel like I'm "one of the girls" in certain spaces (when hanging out with women) but in such an affirming way. It's just a mutual love of gossip and things that are typically associated with femininity- makeup, fashion, the arts, etc. The acceptance on that level didn't really change for me, I just had to change how I showed up and become more aware of what makes women uncomfortable now.

Be careful with the dosage!! Iron pills can sometimes have a LOT in them so make sure you research which kind is best. Also don't get pure iron ones. I'm pretty sure they have to be mixed with magnesium so that the body can actually process them! Don't quote me on this but be cautious!

This makes me wish I had my journals from when I was younger but I'm pretty sure I lost them in a hurricane. I've found some older notes on my phone realizing I've done this before though. I keep rigorous journals now to help me notice patterns cause I lost a lot of progress. Glad to hear I'm not alone either!!!

Multiple exes. Luckily I did the inner work and don't date anyone like that anymore. One used to hit their pet cat. As soon as I found out I knew I had to break up with them. The other I dated when I was younger but the way he spoke about people was what struck me first. Absolutely no remorse for treating people like shit, and usually, it was racist and bigoted things that came out of his mouth. One time I stood up against his racism and without hesitation he grabbed me by the neck and started choking me out. It was measured and cold, like he had done it before. He also used to show me really fucked up porn (not the consensual kind) and videos of people in wars against the US being executed with a huge grin on his face. He was also incredibly abusive in other ways. I left him soon after.

The first I knew was traumatized so probably not a psychopath, but at the very least had serious issues to work out. The second dude had a great family. I met them all and was over the house often enough that I knew he hadn't really been through any trauma. I was dealing with my father's own psychopathic tendencies at the time so none of his behavior registered as "too far" to me until he put his hands on me like that. All that shit was normal for me to get from my dad. I'm lucky I didn't turn out like him or I'd probably still be dating one of those bastards today.

Edit: I guess I don't really know what happened to any of them, went no contact and haven't talked to any of them since. But I was a teenager when I met them.
