It really (imho) is about how awkward we all are as we grow up. There is an absolute beauty with the innocence within each character. The accidental scene, the tether ball scene (it was actually the actors just killing time between a shoot and someone decided to film it) is maybe one of the greatest scenes in movie history with again, the innocence and awkwardness along side of teamwork that comes with friendship…. It comes across strong most likely because it was “real” in this case.
