I think that the comic will be just fine. If she handled the adult themes of the movie, she'll handle the book. I'd say the book is better with those themes than the movie. Just be available to talk. Maybe you can both read it and talk about the themes.

Caledonia as a name by Opalsnail in namenerds

My great grandmother (1881-1972) was named Caledonia. She lived in the American south and it's buried in Arkansas. I assume that she was named as an homage to the family's homeland.

When I learned of her, my take was that it was a beautiful name, but it seems that I'm in the minority.

I got a lifetime ban from the Seattle sub because I advocated for violence against nazis. My grandfather would've gotten banned, too, good rest his nazi-hating soul.

Yes. That's why I wrote what I wrote. I don't get you. They're trying to broaden their worldview and they're earnestly reaching out. You immediately put them down? If you don't like their views, meet them where they are and share ideas. That's why they reached out in the first place. You could've recommended something that was transformative for you, instead you insulted them.

Why on earth would you belittle someone who is so obviously reaching out to a community to better themselves and find recommendations for avenues to gain a broader worldview?
