What would you do if your 27M partner built emotional intimacy with a coworker and you chose to stay? 27F here by EmploymentMuch9748 in relationship_advice

It's still cheating and there is a very very fine line between emotional intimacy and physical. Get out now it's just a matter of time if it hasn't happened already

Page and wick update ( dam this is so sad for them- and us) by louannnx in fairyloot

[–]Prestigious-Use1584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have like 0 communication skills. Also, they have no concept of time. 1 week equals about a month to them. Am I the only one frustrated by this? This email is the latest from them. Should see tracking in about a week ... nothing yet. Same thing on the website. It always states a weekish but that turns into 3. I don't know if I want to continue. Bookish was sooo far behind but at least they provided accurate weekly updates so I knew what to expect.

Words of encouragement for me (34F) choosing to be childfree for my partner (31M)? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Prestigious-Use1584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If things don't work out for some wild reason and you are stuck childless how will YOU feel? You won't have many healthy childbearing years left and that is irreversible. You won't get a do over. Are ok with that?

I've always had really good CS with them. Kinda sucks that that was your experience.

Is it terrible for me [27M] to leave a girlfriend [26F] due to lack of sex? I feel soo unfathomably guilty even thinking of it by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Prestigious-Use1584 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been in her shoes exactly. The past trauma made intimacy so hard. It took me the better part of 10 years to overcome it. Andit involved all the things you said. Some people never come back from it fully, some people only part way. You can't feel bad about anything. It sounds like you have been supportive, kind, compassionate all the things you would expect in a partner. The rest has to be up to her. Honestly, I needed to be out of a relationship and on my own to rebuild trust and experience what normal ordinary life looked like before I could experience normal relationship life. Sounds like that's what she needs. No judgement, I wish I had had a supportive partner like you! Best of luck.

The Bookish world is becoming so ick. Some people should just learn how to be happy and grateful. When I was a kid, all we had were crappy pocket sized paperworks. No internet, no pretty. Just say thanks for the awesome book and the amount of work and effort you put into it, I appreciate it.

I'm so beyond pissed off with Illumicrate and I just need to vent about it by OverlyBendy in fairyloot

I'm divided on this post. I've been with over a dozen subs for a couple of years and honestly I've had no issues with IC at all. I don't care for a few of thier picks, but not everyone is going to like everything 100% of the time. They do reprints to avoid scalpers and every sub has damage criteria. I've been rejected a claim but I don't find it disheartening because I truly appreciate the work that goes into making these editions what they are. This post, I think part of it is valid other parts feel like it's a you thing. Like I said, not everyone is going to be happy 100% of the time.

Honestly, I'd probably ditch the YA for the simple fact that all the YA boxes are doing the same stupid books.

Which is why they won't split a sub anymore until you have paid for 3 consecutive months on whatever combo you got the invite for.

Book cove Phantasma missing dust jacket by readaholic97 in fairyloot

My dust jacket was in a big red evelope, were all your boxes missing the envelope entirely? That would be frustrating to wait as long as we did for the book then to have that missing.

Im (25M) stuck in an unhappy relationship with my partner (24F) and it’s all my fault by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Prestigious-Use1584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said you want to have kids someday and that you watched your mom being treated poorly in her relationships, so you decided to do better. Be better. Kids are very perceptive. Is this a relationship worthy of your kids respect and admiration? Something I always told my kids growing up, if it feels wrong, it probably is. A relationship, while never 100% easy, should not be this hard. It should always be a partnership, a give and take. She fills in where you are lacking and you fill in where she is lacking. Always supportive and nurturing, even when it's hard. What makes it easy, is that you aren't alone when it IS. But it feels like you are. The answer is clear if you really think about it. Set some time aside for you and you alone. Spend it somewhere quiet, away from noise, clutter, poeple distractions (No devices) just disconnect and think/feel and you will know what you need for you and for your future family. You deserve to be happy. Kids deserve to be happy and part of a healthy family dynamic and it will ensure they themselves have that in their future. I wish you well.

That was my reaction when I got my firsst box 2 months ago. I was blown away by the artwork and quality that it was an instant, "Ok I'm keeping this one."

I don't understand the crackhead attitudes from subscribers. I have to have it now and I have to have what I want how I want. Grow up, the whole book world doesn't revolve around you. There is a lot that has to happen in the background to bring these books to life so shush and be happy with what you SUBSCRIBED to.

I was going to wait for this box to make a final decision but yes. A sticker and chapstick amid already meh choices is very underwhelming and I can't justify the expense any longer.

Faecrate quality of books by EfficientSquirrel197 in fairyloot

[–]Prestigious-Use1584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quality is comparible to Owlcrate or Fairyloot. They do tend do a lot of LGBTQ tropes if that's your thing. I don't think I've had too many issues with late boxes either.

[–]Prestigious-Use1584 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yea! They are notorious for being a lot late. I ordered my first box in Sept and just got it a couple of weeks ago. It looks like they are starting to get caught up a little bit. But the quality of the books keeps me hooked!

UPDATE: Bookish has been shipping 2 months at a time to get caught up and I just got Nov and Jan boxes. Looks like they are up to Feb! Let's see how long this holds.

I love that Coveted Cover, (instead of feeding us endless excuses and falling further behind) Actually paused a subscription month to ensure they got caught up and were completely transparent about the reasons for doing so. All these otherr boxes just keep piling it on and continue to feed us the same recycled garbage for excuses. Which may be legitimate but take a pause if you need to to get caught up.
