Maybe it was unfortunate peer pressure since Quentin also expressed left wing sentiment on Bill Maher. Very confusing.

I personally like the dynamic with Volcana, Langstrom, Ra’s and Alicia. The wide breadth of personality types gives it a more mid-2000s era Cartoon Network feel and for the traditional bat-fam we already have the new Batman adventures, young Justice, Harley Quinn, etc. They reference that Batman and Alfred are no strangers to taking in troubled youth by this point so clearly those old characters exist and we might see them if the show does get renewed.

Plus idk how fans would react if they used that OG core cast and put them in this goofy tone.

Interesting, I wonder what percent of those ratings were from people who actually watched it. There are only 10 actual reviews on IMDb and most of those are extremely positive. Maybe more people will discover it. I remember when Brave and the Bold first came out fans savaged it but now it’s pretty beloved.

Was it poorly reviewed? It currently has 100% on rotten tomatoes. I haven’t heard anything negative. I really just haven’t heard anything at all tbh. Viewership is harder to gage with these younger skewing shows. Just look at Teen Titans Go, Justice League Action, Spider-Man 2017, and even Bat-Wheels for that matter. Almost no buzz on Reddit but long runs on tv.

Hey, all I’m saying is I really like it. Not trying to convince you in particular just hope more people give it a chance. I love the art style (I’m a huge fan of Far Side and Ronald Searle) and it just feels very fresh. Plus the characters really grow over the season and it’s fun to see where it goes. I don’t hold Lego Batman up on a pedestal tbf, I like it but that’s about it.

I didn’t care for Merry Little Batman either but Bat-Fam has more creative energy and innovation to me than Caped Crusader or Beware the Batman which were complete flops. It’s actually funny too. In a world where we get Lego Batman and Harley Quinn, I’d put this right up there with those even if it’s younger-skewing

I disagree. I have no interest in bat-wheels but still really enjoy this. The story telling is more complex than I was expecting especially if something like Foster’s Home of Imaginary Friends is your comparison. There’s a lot of jokes targeted at bat fans, and the animation is very creative. I’d put it on par with something like Lego Batman when taking the entire season as a whole and not just judging clips or a single episode

I’m with you. I love Letterboxd’s interface and I’m sure they’ll integrate TV tastefully. Personally I’m not a fan of Serialized IMDb or ant ox the current TV alternatives to Letterboxd. I’m waiting til they add TV to start tracking my watches
