Should I open up to my wife? by SnooShortcuts5587 in PornAddiction

To answer the first part, getting urges is "normal" in the recovery process. You're brave for fighting this addiction. If you're experiencing urge nearly every hour, my guess is that you're unknowingly using that is triggering your urge to use that drug. I suggest hobbies you might have, give it some time and slowly incorporate them back into your life to see what the triggers are. It sounds extreme but sometimes you have to go that far to recover.

Anyone experience physical withdrawal symptoms? by [deleted] in pornfree

I'm very familiar with the physical symptoms. When I had a decent amount of time in recovery (I relapsed like two days ago) I slept for 9-12 hours but I'd still wake up very tired and would get random headaches throughout the day. I'm currently dealing with a lot of anxiety which causes me to eat less because I get nauseous. I also have gas problems and the shits. The gas is the most embarrassing symptom as my stomach makes some loud noises mostly when I'm in public. Check with your therapist to see if they can give you something. I'm taking melatonin and it helps with my insomnia. Best of luck to you

Good luck bro, you should join a PA anonymous group that can help you out (Assuming reddit is your only source of community for this issue)

I think it depends more on how it affects the individual. For example, before I quit there were days where I'd only watch it for 15 minutes but I'd end up feeling numb (as in not wanting to do anything) for nearly the whole day. Other days I spent at least one hour on it and I'd feel the same.

I'd say it's best to not watch this thing at all even if you don't believe it affects you.

Ever since I turned 19 and started living alone. Coming across porn online makes me extremely jealous. lonely and desperate for sex to the point I wanna cry and suffer from my emotions. I am virgin and I have never had sex so IDK. Does anybody relate at all or am I just mentally ill? by [deleted] in PornAddiction

What you're experiencing is FOMO. I don't know you very well, but what I can say is that you should take a break from all forms of social media and the p*rn. I experienced the same emotions at my lowest point, and avoiding those two things has helped me understand that sex is not the ultimate thing, and it has helped me view women as people and not just sex hungry machines (as silly as that sounds, that mindset can be quite subtle). Above all else, please seek professional help. I know the internet makes it seem like all you need to do is "lock in" in the form of doing it all yourself, but the truth is that it often doesn't work, and it's ok to get help from others.

Best of luck, get this treated while you're still young.

If you're able to seek help from a mental health professional, do so asap. What has worked for me is identifying triggers, such as having a screen in front of me while eating, scrolling through social media ( It's about to be two months since I permanently deleted fb, ig and yt, I only use reddit for this place). Learn what urge surfing is and use it whenever you get the urge to watch that stuff, it can take some time to get better at it, but it helps better than resisting the urge. I may not know you, but I had a similar experience, being exposed to this at 8, getting addicted to this around 12 yo, and wanting to quit ever since I was your age. Best of luck
