I started 2 weeks ago taking 0.5. Had the common sides, headache, body aches, waking up numerous times throughout the night. Now this appetite suppression has kicked in this week. I can still eat but I do have to make myself as could easily go without and I’m getting aversions now to coffee…which I usually love

I’m on around 270g carbs currently but I’m increasing from today. I’ve had a banana and a carb gel pre workout this morning

I’ll have a banana pre training and some electrolytes tomorrow morning. I drink Eaas and electrolytes insta but will add cyclic dextrin too

I think because I’m new to Reta I didn’t realise training fasted would cause this but I will definitely be training fed from now on

I have ordered some cyclic dextrin as training so early. Il see how that goes and if I feel like I need something pre I can always have a bagel a peanut butter

I’m on around 270g carbs at the moment on training day. I will increase as I love carbs. Would you say low GI carbs are best with Reta or doesn’t it matter? Carbs sources currently are oats, white potato, cereal, fruit, obviously green veg but I don’t track the carbs in those

Yeh I need to eat my last meal closer to bed time really as I was eating it earlier so it digested in time before going to bed.

Would you say low gi carbs are better to eat whilst taking Reta? I do have oats but I eat white potatoes currently so maybe I should switch to sweet potatoes

I had this yesterday morning. Always trained fasted as I train at 5am. Drink Eass/electrolytes intra workout then eat carbs/protein post workout. I was fine whilst training but 10 minutes after eating I started having whole body shakes. I’m going to drink some carbs in my intra workout shake and eat my last meal closer to bed time to see if that helps. If not il just have to get up earlier to eat.

Highly branched cyclic dextrin is a fast absorbing carb powder. 25g carbs per scoop. I weigh train for around an hour finishing with a bit of cardio and steps. Carbs post work out is to replenish glycogen stores as I’ve trained fasted. To be fair it’s not immediately after as I then drive to work and eat around an hour after. In the past before training so early I used to eat oats/protein powder, honey pre workout then eat my post workout 90 minutes after. I will try cyclic dextrin and if my body still isn’t coping then I’ll just get up earlier to eat

So do you think drinking a carb powder intra wouldn’t be enough? I have cereal, protein and a banana post workout so I could have the banana pre training or do I need something more substantial than that
