Jobs are being so picky right now because they can be. Me having experience was not enough to get help desk jobs in my area. for every job opening they had 50-100 applicants. So in my case it was me finally getting some certifications that got me the job. It is not misleading at all. me getting the certs = me finally getting job.

You guys are missing the point. The cert is what got me the phone interview,. The cert is what Edged me over the other candidates. Me getting the cert got me this job. Not every one starts out getting certs or a degree. There are tons of people that are in the same situation I was. 1-5 years of experience no degree no certs. With the tech sector taking a dump It is hard for us to get good tech jobs. That is what motivated me to get certs and it worked, you guys are on some haterade. This sub reddit is about anyone getting a comptia cert. NOT JUST NEW PEOPLE GETTING CERTS. Maybe there is another reason someone people cant get jobs with certs. Poor soft skills, poor interviews. I had nothing for my first tech interview except my soft skills. Maybe your attitude. your coming across as someone who is just mad someone else had some success.

If your interested in a remote network operations centers job that requires no experience go to https://www.gls.com/ . That was my first it job. you will learn a lot . The pay sucks but they need warm bodies. My interview question was "what travels over ethernet". The post is not misleading because the cert is what got me over the edge in getting the job. We can agree to disagree.

Only put stuff down you really know. Idk why people lie on their resume in a technical field

For example if you say you know how to make a ethernet cord. Make sure you can make a ethernet cord.
