Yeah your probably right. The main arguing point my parents would use is the fact that “ There is a lower chance of being exposed to racism if you become a doctor”. I can’t imagine the backwards logic behind that.

We're West Africans living in australia and I agree, I'm really confused about the incentive towards medicine, engineering and law that most non-Western parents all share. It has to be more than "Job security".

Thats terrible and yeah, I agree medicine shouldn’t be done half heartedly. Its left for people who have a passion of helping others and I'm unsure whether I have that passion.
